One of Calgary’s premier destinations for cooking classes, ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen hosts an extravagant four-course Mother’s Day luncheon on May 13. This isn’t a cooking class, so mom won’t have to worry about making any food this time around. Start off with a thai carrot and ginger velouté, followed by mimosa salad and roasted sable fish. Finish off the meal with a fresh, fruit-filled dessert of poached pears and raspberry sorbet. Admission is $50 per person. Register your nine- to 11-year-old child in one of ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen’s single- or multiple-day camps in which they’ll learn the basics of food preparation, kitchen safety and cooking techniques. They’ll then be able to show off their culinary skill and knowledge as they prepare you from-scratch meals at home.
