Great gigs: Summer music festivals in Calgary

A family-friendly celebration of African music and culture, Afrikadey! events are held throughout the city, with the main event day held at Prince’s Island Park on August 13. The day’s featured artists include folk drummer Wura Samba, Afro-beat musician Sandra Izsadore, African-fusion performer extraordinaire Youssou Seck, Afrojazz and Afropop king Munya Mataruse, Afro-beat DJ Yung Jaah and Calgary’s DJ AK.
