Big Catch Sushi welcomes you to their establishment. They are open nightly from Thursday to Sunday and are easily accessible by car. Savor your meal at home thanks to their delivery service.
Sushi is known as edible art. The chefs at Big Catch Sushi take a lot of pride in creating works of art with their food, which has helped them to become one of the most popular restaurants in Calgary. “We do put a lot of detail into presentation,” says owner Shin Koshirae. “You need to have the quality in the food and the presentation. Especially in sushi, it’s very important.”
It’s that artistic component that drew Shin to become a sushi master. “I love just being able to get creative. I really love art, and sushi lets me use art to make people happy," he says. "It’s a great feeling.”
The company takes its philosophy from the Japanese term Youki, which translated means “bright energy”. The chefs blend that bright energy with artistic vision to create a happy, energetic environment. As customers sit at the open sushi bar they can see the energy shining through as they watch the chefs prepare each masterpiece.
It’s hard to believe that one of the best sushi spots in Calgary is located in a farmers’ market! The chefs here are serious about their art – even a simple sushi platter is served with delicate wasabi garnishes in the shape of birds and flowers. Their sushi rolls are similarly artistic – the dragon roll actually looks like a dragon, with avocado “scales” and a shrimp-tempura tail.
With a reputation for excellent, large-scale corporate catering, Big Catch also has no problem delivering freshly made rolls, sashimi and other delicious dishes to your party. They only deliver in the early evening Thursdays through Sundays, and their delivery zone is limited to the region around Kingsland, Fairview, Elbow Park and Acadia. We suggest making a friend in the area if you want some scrumptious sushi without having to sit in.
