The family behind this establishment also owns a restaurant, but Hoang Long Casual Fare is their foray into cafeteria-style Vietnamese cuisine. The space is huge and light-filled, with plenty of tables and lots of ready-to-grab items sitting out, grocery store style. Their salad rolls are killer (and hold up really well the next day for leftovers), the grilled quail has an unexpected but really tasty barbecue flavour. But it’s the Thai noodle coconut soup that really floats my boat – huge portion of savoury coconut broth, tons of rice noodles and hunks of chicken, seasoned just right.
