Chicken and prawns take the main stage in this pad Thai. It’s served up quick in a cafeteria style restaurant with some seating. It’s one of the few Thai places on the south side of Edmonton, and it is always dependable. They are willing to substitute crispy tofu for the chicken and prawns in order to make this dish vegetarian.

This tiny Thai spot has a few tables but is perhaps best known as a takeout joint. It’s located in Summerside, and is a popular place to pick up food after shopping at the nearby retail stores. That said, the spicy Thai green curry is so good that it also makes it a destination for those who don’t live on the south side.

A tiny Vietnamese restaurant hidden amongst other shops in Summerside, Mini Mango is an ideal place to get lunch to go or stay (there are several tables inside). They make everything fresh, and are happy to cater to dietary preferences or allergies. Their menu is labelled to let guests know which items can be made gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, spicy or extra spicy (and which dishes contain nuts). Their Thai green curry is always a good choice, as are the vermicelli noodle bowls. They are known for their banh mi Vietnamese subs, such as the pork meatball or lemongrass tofu sandwiches.
