Michael Clark says he doesn’t accept it when people claim they can’t do something when it comes to fitness. He knows first-hand what can be done, because he did it himself. Michael used to believe that he couldn’t lose weight — he was 275 pounds about 15 years ago and, while he lifted weights, he wasn’t at the fitness level he wanted to be.
But he decided to make a change, and now, the personal trainer, who shed 85 pounds, helps others reach their fitness goals through the company he and his wife own, PureWellness. Now he runs five kilometres a day and, while he doesn’t enjoy the running itself, he enjoys the benefits. But more than that, he enjoys seeing his knowledge and skill benefit his clients.
This is more than just a gym or fitness centre; it’s a
wellness centre, designed to treat several aspects of health and wellness. They offer not only personal training and private fitness sessions, but also acupuncture and massage therapy, both of which can help treat the soreness that comes with a hard-core workout.
This locally owned facility combines personal fitness training, group training and fitness classes with massage therapy to offer clients a variety of ways to achieve personal wellness. Their team of certified trainers, who work with everyone from couch potatoes to elite athletes, develop personalized fitness plans for each client. Group training classes include TRX, body circuit training, core conditioning and bodyweight boot camp. Plus, they offer a free consultation for anyone thinking of signing up for one-on-one training.
