Great vegan options with food tasting like actual meat. The prices are very reasonable.

A great vegetarian pick and overall foodie-favourite is the Veggie Garden. If you miss the meat, they’ve got vegetarian versions of chicken, beef and pork, done up with fresh veggies, that taste like the real thing. Start with items you know, such as spring rolls and noodles, then move on to different dishes until you and your date develop your own favourites.

Veggie Garden has a mostly vegan menu with large portions at a great price. You can fill up on one dish for around $8. It’s an awesome spot to bring a large group of friends to try their delicious Chinese food. My menu pick would be their cilantro cakes, which go perfectly with spicy chili sauce.

This restaurant warns customers as soon as they walk in the door that they don’t serve meat (in case the name didn’t make that clear already, I guess). But even carnivores swear they don’t miss the meat here; they see it as a chance to fill up on their daily quota of veggies. The cilantro cakes with mango sauce are a popular choice and the faux beef that appears in some dishes is nice and lean.
