This place does not teach any real martial art. We wasted 8 months and thousands of dollars there. They can’t even say if it’s karate or taekwondo. They push you to register for frequent and expensive belt exams. Belt promotions are based on paying for belt exams rather than real skills. Uses contracts to lock you in, pressure to “upgrades” to Black Belt Club contracts or Leadership contracts, selling gear, and belt exams! Do not sign any contracts! It’s how they hook you in and lock you there.

Watch out for franchise dojos. Newton Black Belt Academy is “independently owned and operated” (from the ATA Black Belt Franchise - as written on their paper. McDonald’s are also a franchise and each restaurant is independently owned and operated! The goal is to make money! ) Do a good research before considering signing their contracts. Better yet, avoid all contracts. A good, legitimate martial art schools do not need to use contracts as financial chokeholds.

Started training with Senior Master karpiuk in 1995. He has always been there for me both in and out of martial arts. Seen many a champion come from his schools year after year. So, I can easily recommend him and his schools to anyone and or their children. You will be surrounded by good people! :)
