Meet the owner

Nobody likes to hear a funny sound coming from their furnace or water heater – more often than not it means a call to a technician and a hefty bill. Ali Shojaii, the owner of BC Heat Co, doesn't like those sounds either. Although he’s on the other side of the table, he understands what it means to be a worried homeowner and puts this experience to use to make his company different. Rather than driving up the price for every little thing, Ali prefers to advise and educate homeowners. “It’s important to be honest with the customer and everything they need,” he says.

He understands homeowners just want their furnaces to work and never pressures them. “Everything I know, I transfer it to customers, and I let them know my recommendation and suggestion,” he says. “For example, dryer vents – they catch fire easily and, according to fire departments, they should be upgraded to aluminum flex.”

    I found this comp...

    I found this company through a groupon / online coupon for a furnace servicing. They were easy to schedule, came on time, serviced my furnace and were not pushy about upselling to other services. I had 'Ali' and he was polite, knowledgeable and very nice. It's great to get a deal with a Groupon, but it's better when you don't feel like they are treating you like less of a customer. I'll be replacing a furnace soon and will definitely give them a call again!
