Told the hygienist that I was having shooting pain from my tooth, Dr. came in and started scraping away at my tooth without telling me what he was doing, scraped the side of my lip (and then told me I wasn't bleeding 3 times as though grabbing my lip was unfounded), kept yelling "Chin up." I have a neck injury, it's on my records. Fought with me about whether my retainer goes over my alveolar ridge (touched my palette while letting me knows it's called that...it's a different part...)
I had my first dental appointment at Uptown Dental, and I had an amazing experience!
Dr Dhillon is very professional, gentle, and caring. He always did his best to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. He had a gentle touch even in the most difficult part of the filling work and very informative. It is hard to ignore holes in your teeth when he shows you on Tv screens after using his hi tech cameras.I have never seen my own teeth and there they were. Neat but more so I never felt cheated.
Im a physician and I'm very discriminating about who I see as a patient. When one works in a particular field, you tend to know what really goes on behind the scenes, you hear about who is good and who isnt. Unfortunately, its hard to find quality doctors sometime. Now that I found Dr D, I literally drive out of my way to go see him. Most of us dread going to see the dentist (dont tell him I said that), but he makes you feel as comfortable as possible from the ambiance. Oh ya, He does good work.
I was referred to Uptown Dental by my cousin when I had a huge infection. The side of my face was swollen and I really needed help. Dr immediately saw me and explained to me what has happened. I had a root canal done years ago which had gotten reinfected. Dr called in a favor and had a root canal specialist arrange to redo my root canal. After the root canal was redone I saw Dr to replace the faulty crown. My new crown looks natural and I was able to contact the doctor even after hours.priceless
I have been a patient of Uptown Dental for the last couple of years. Dr. Dhilon is hands down the best dentist I've ever seen. So incredibly nice, very concerned with his patients' comfort at every step, and he does great work. My visit is always shorter than I expect - they get the work done fast. The office is great - they are always on schedule, everyone is nice and professional, and they are good at working with insurance etc. And you can watch Netflix while you get work done...just great!
Long overdue review for such a great dental office! I've been Dr. Dhillon's loyal patient for over 2 years now, even the drive all the way from the Oak Bay can't stop me from coming here.
Dr. Dhillon is simply amazing: quick, painless and always with a detailed explanation of what he is doing and why. Even if it's a simple cleaning, she performs it himself. Plus while he works I can enjoy watching Family Guy:)
The front desk is great as well, never had to wait more than 10 minutes
Just moved to the city and needed to find a good dentist and they went above and beyond my expectations! They have a friendly great staff. The sweet receptionist got me in the next day, and explained my coverage and insurance plan clearly.The office is super clean and inviting with modern flat screens above your chair while you get your cleaning so you can watch your favorite shows and ignore the drilling.
I'll preface this review by letting you know my dad has been my dentist for my entire life. Now that he's getting up there in years (me too) and with his practice in Vancouver, I decided it was time to find someone here in Victoria. Dr. Dhillon and the office were perfect. Very kind, courteous, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Got a first rate check up and cleaning. I would definitely recommend Uptown Dental.
I started coming here over a year ago. I will say Dr. Dhilg is one of the best dentists I've ever had. He and his office staff are caring and compassionate. Even though I have nice teeth, I still don't like going to the dentist. Dr. doesn't make the experience seem that bad. Prior to seeing Dr. Dhillon, the last two dentists I had aggressively tried to up-sell unnecessary products or services to me. I was annoyed with that because all I wanted to do was get my teeth cleaned. Done.
I came in to get an old filling replaced. Alright! Alright! To get a cavity filled. Sigh. But it WAS under an old filling and Dr. D assured me that there was nothing I could have done about it, showing just how kind Dr. is.
Once again, I was notified via text a week in advance and then two hours before so that I wouldn't forget my appointment. I love this service! The staff is cheerful, friendly and accommodating. The office is still sparkling clean, beautifully decorated.
It may seem like overkill, but I've been back twice since my first visit (once for fillings and once for a root canal), and each time has been just as great as my first experience. They really exemplify what exceptional service looks like. Dr. Dhillon and his assistant were perfect... impeccable in their work.

I have had some catch up work done on my mouth in the last month. One root canal, general cleaning, and 2 cavities filled. I found him on this site. Dr. Dhillon /Uptown Dental hands down, the most professional dentist I have ever been to.
I am very happy with this dentist. The previous dentist just retired and I'm really happy to now have a dentist who is up to date with the latest techniques and technology.
