Wagyu Steak was amazing! I am somebody who has never been satisfied with a steak at a restaurant.... until now. It was always something I could do better on my BBQ. The Wagyu was everything it was hyped up to be. It was made perfectly and I could cut it with my fork. I will definitely be back to have this world class dish again. Thank you Kanye and Andrew for an incredible dining experience!!!

I have been here a few times to the suggestion of others. I usually dont choose this restauarnt due to how costly my bill is at the end of the night. Yes it does have a beautiful atmosphere, probabaly the best atmoshpere I have expirenced, yet to me it is just not worth the added 40 or 50 dollars to one night out just to sit in a pretty place. The chicken curry penne I last ordered was a little dissapointing. It was far too sweet compared to another restaurants version here in the city that I have tried that cost me half the price. For the size and simplicity of the dessert, the price was suprising and due to the waitress not asking which version of the type of wine I asked for (I guess some of the blame for this could be my own for not checking prices) I payed much more than expected for just two glasses as she obviously gave me the most expensive type. Call me a tightwad but When at the end of the night your bill is eighty dollars for one person, I guess I just expect much more.

Simply one of the best casual but high quality restaurants I have been to. They changed their menu a couple of years ago and I miss their seafood stew but there are plenty of over great choices! Enjoy a wine flight...lots of fun!

I have been to BB several times. Overall, my experiences have been inconsistent. Some dishes are fabulous, others are not great, others have been bad. Sometimes the service is good, other times it has been snobby and careless. No single time have I ever come out of there thinking "this is it, I'm adding it to my list of favourite places". One wonders, then, how seriously BB takes that it has in the past been named one of the top 100 restaurants in Canada. They display this label proudly but, do they in fact live up to it? It is hard to believe that BB would serve burnt meat to paying customers. And yet this is what I have witnessed; not always, but once is one too many times already for a restaurant like BB. If the grill station was 'off' that day then the person expediting at the pass should have caught the steaks and returned them. The simple reason for doing this is pride in the standards of the institution, and respect for the customer. More often than not, BB is classified as 'Italian' and you can appreciate why this is: they have a section of the menu devoted exclusively to pizzas (thin crust), and quite a few pastas (avoid the one with shrimp Scampi unless you are looking for bland, not flavour). But they have not remained an Italian restaurant. This is both good and bad. It is good because the best dish they have is the green curry chicken with pork dumplings (subtly flavoured and very pleasing); but it is bad because most of their attempts to stray away from Italian food are still restrained and, with the exception of the above-mentioned green curry chicken, the maple salmon and (perhaps) the salmon tartare, their fusion dishes do not deliver as one would hope. Why resort over and over again to the same starches, choices of meat, and vegetables that everyone else uses? They need to push the envelope and deliver the food that matches the prices they want their customers to pay. One also wonders why BB, which is a sister business to The Happy Baker (one of the best bakeries in town), does not have better or more imaginative desserts. Believe it or not, there are people who do not want chocolate or cream for dessert, they want fruit. A tarte Tatin, or a pear/frangipane concoction would work wonders for them. For those of us who do like chocolate and cream I simply have to say that molten cakes need to have molten (not dry) centres. Maybe BB needs to consider making these 'a la minute'. Yes, it takes longer, but discerning customers are willing to wait (and pay) for *great* food. The best restaurants are those where the customer feels appreciated, and where the food is fantastic and not overpriced. BB still has a long way to go to achieve this status. Their wine list may be a mile long, but this will never make up for condescending waiters/waitresses, for rushed and careless manners, or for food that is only sometimes good. This is not anybody's expectation of any restaurant, let alone one that was voted worthy of being at the top 100.
