Last Saturday night the 6 of us tried out 22’s Patio. We sat on their cast iron patio set that was shaded by this huge tree. We shared 5 of the apps and tried their house wines and mixed drinks. The food was great and the atmosphere was even better. Next time your there I highly recommend the patio and the calamari.

STEAKS AND A LEAFS WIN! I live in Ajax and I took 7 of my friends from out of town to a steakhouse I also go for lunch for business meetings. We all had the NY steak and different side orders and loved it. After dinner we had some drinks which the waitress called the Cafe room and watched the Maple Leafs actually win a game! I will be back!

I recently went to 22 Church after it was highly recommended to me. We were not disappointed at all. We travelled from Newmarket to go to Ajax and it was well worth the drive! The cozy and quaint atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely, the waitress was very pleasant and efficient and the food was exceptionally good. The salads were fresh and crisp. The steaks were cooked and seasoned to perfection and the vegetables were perfect. What more can I say...we had a wonderful experience and look forward to the summer weather so we can sit on their lovely patio.

The food was great and the service friendly and helpful. I thanked my friend for recommending this restaurant to me and will definitley pass on the word to others about this great place to eat.
We had never been to this restaurant but live in the area and had 2 for 1 entree coupons so thought we should try it. Whe we made reservations we informed that we would like to use the 2/1 for both couples and were told no problem. When we arrived the restaurant was empty and we were told only one coupon per table. We said we would sit at another table (the place is so small it made no difference if our table was separated). The waitress said don't worry about it!! Then the bill came and she refused to accept both coupons. No manager on site so we asked her to call one by telephone. When speaking to the manager she was as stubborn as the waitress!
We made it clear that the $$ was no longer the issue but the fact that we were lied to by the person who took the reservation and then mislead by the waitress. Although we still did tip, we would not go back. It is sad the they must be doing so poorly that they have to resort to such lengths to get business.
I am writing this review over a year later (just found this site). I suggested this restaurant to my sister as we were trying to decide on a restaurant to celebrate her husband's birthday in. They drove all the way from Markham based on our recommendation. We'd been here three or four times before and each time we enjoyed it.
This time though we ended up upstairs, all by ourselves. Literally, for the entire night. Our waitress was nowhere to be found - it was apparent it was too much of an effort for her to come up and refill drink orders, or ask us if we wanted a refill on our coffee or dessert. We got the impression she just wanted us the heck out of there. It was incredibly embarrassing. We won't be back.

The food at this restaurant is always good, but they are weak when it comes to delivering everyones food at one time. As is custom for polite people, we wanted to wait until all four of us received our entrees before we started to eat. We ended up starting before the fourth person in our group received there food as our plates were getting cold! This turned everyone off a bit. We chatted for a while as we enjoyed our bottle of wine, and the waitress actually started taking everything off of our table without asking! It was apparently near closing time and I guess she wanted to give us a strong hint. Why could she not just say "We are closing soon"? Also, I feel that they should include some sort of a small salad to justify their high price per entree.
We go here quite often and are never dissappointed. The food is always cooked to perfection and the service is fantastic. I could eat here every night!

Small cozy atmosphere in an old renovated house. Food was excellent, very tasty, vegetables consisted of broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, potatoes and squash cooked just right. When the entrees are $18.00+, is it too much to ask that soup or salad be included? Why is everything al a carte? I am not a fan of fine dining......too pricey for me. Can't speak for my friends.
the service was horrible. we were put upstairs where there are no windows and the temperature was 150 degrees! Our waitress was rude (dark hair, scottish accent) and we had to wait one hour just for salad. when we asked about the heat, nothing was done. We will NEVER eat here again or recommend it to friends.

What a great place! we visited for the first time after living in Ajax for 5 years! We didn't know what we were missing. My husband had a steak grilled to perfection. I had a delicious pasta dish. The appetizers, bacon wrapped scallops and crab cakes were excellent, we will make this restaurant our favourite.

Everytime we go there, everybody gets put in one room. That is what we do not like. We don't want to be seated where their is kids. Another time we went, we wanted to sit at a certain table, but we were told it was reserved, but nobody ever did show up for that table. Later on a party of 4 came in the restaurant and asked if they could sit at the empty table, they were also told it was reserved. They were put at the table beside us, and left because the noise from the bar was very rowdy. Then, when we were leaving, we asked our very nice waitress what happened to the so called people that reserved that table for the whole night? She said "oh they've been in the bar all night". So, why didn't they offer a table in another room?

if hot and uncomfortable it is hard to enjoy the dining experience
Very tight seating and food took forever to arrive. No A/C so it got VERY hot upstairs. They was a family gathering next to us and several young children were left to RUN around this fine dinning restaurant. Staff said nothing even though several other tables commented on it and the noise from that table.
I'm sure it would be nice on a quite week night but I didn't feel it eas worth the $50/plate.
