Great food, TERRIBLE service. The "waitress" took over 45 minutes to ask me what I wanted to drink, she kept ignoring our table. We did not get any plates for the food we were sharing. We had to ask several times for cutlery, since the staff thinks we don't need a fork, spoon, knife nor napkins with our food. This not the first time we received these AWFUL SERVICE at Moxie's, we are never returning there.

None of our 5 main dishes were fresh or good. My husband's chicken was bone dry,my steelhead salmon was not fresh and not the 2 taco dishes either. My wine was from an opened old bottle. My husband's piano noir was OK. Does Moxi's have a new but lousy chef? Used to be a good place to dine.

Second Hand Review

I haven't been to Moxies but my father has. He was somewhat embarrassed by his experience. He wanted to take his mother somewhere for Mothers Day. It was supposed to be a nice meal but it was disrupting to have young men hitting on my grandmother. Apparently only large breasted women are hired to serve men and likewise attractive gentlemen for the ladies. If you're looking for that sort of thing then that's fine but it wasn't appropriate in my dads eyes

You've Got Moxie!

Moxie's was fun, interesting, and a bit pricey. Upon entering the restaurant, the small entrance was crowded with patrons waiting to be seated and the ambiance was shadowy and modern. A brief wait led to being seated at a roomy table with sleek tableware and comfortable chairs. Fireplaces were dotted across the dining area which added to the overall experience. Service was adequate for the amount of people in the restaurant but drink service was sluggish and a bit disappointing. This was made up for by the quick taking of our orders and serving of our food within ~15minutes. The Penne Toscana came with italian sausage, bacon, mushrooms, in a creamy tomato, pesto and white wine reduction. The pasta was as good as it smelled and came in an adequate quantity to leave me content. One drawback was the fact that the meal was in the ballpark of twenty dollars and dessert was aborted for the sake of not having a heart-attack when the bill came. The washrooms were very clean, posh and impressive. Overall, taking the decor, service, food, drinks, and facilities into consideration I recommend this restaurant to people that are looking for a good meal, aren't on a budget, and are looking for a fun night out.

Expensive but Great.

I really recomend the stuffed baked potato, so full of flavour and just plain delicious. The portions are very small and plain for the price you pay. Very expensive, it was about 65% for me and my boyfriend. Don't go here unless you have the money, because if not you'll be dissapointed. The atmosphere was great, very relaxing and dark. The waitress was halarious and really cared about how we liked our meal. Overall, quite impressed.

Great Food

My husband and I went for dinner with friends at Moxie's at the Georgian Mall. Our dinner was fantastic, service was great and the "Large" Ceasars are amazing! Our bill was higher than I had anticipated but it was well worth it. We will definitely go back!

Over priced and Dissapointed

Moxie's has a very dark and posh interior with lots of browns, reds and low lighting. I found the restaurant was very cold and made it uncomfortable. However I was very impressed with their bathrooms of all places, which were very exquisite. We started off our meal with a traditional favorite of ours, chicken tenders. After waiting 25 minutes for our appetizer, which was loved by my husband, I personally found the batter very crunchy and difficult to chew, but otherwise, very tasty, we waited another 20 minutes for our main course to arrive. I had the Rosemary Lamb Shank with a demi-glaze, that came with Carrots, Potatoes and Butternut Squash. The lamb was very tender, the demi-glaze was very unsatisfactory. I found it had little to no taste and had a burn aftertaste. The potatoes were covered in the same glaze and was disappointed that all I could tastes was a burnt half attempt at a demi-glaze. I also had the carrots and butternut squash. I have to admit, being that I am not a squash person, I really liked the squash but couldn't eat the carrots as they were so hard they might as well as served them raw! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his ribs, which I tasted myself, they had a very sweet and tangy taste and were very tender. However their fries were a large disappointment, being that he is a big fan of fries, they had a very weird taste to them, kind of like corn, I am sure its the oil they used, but it was not good, and a waste of money. Although the main meal was disappointing, I had the Butter Tart Tower for dessert and it was fantastic, although the pastry was a bit thick, it nether-less was a good dessert. In general the staff were friendly, over friendly to be honest. But I'd rather a over friendly staff then wait staff that are rude. We did not complain about our meal as we didn't feel it was necessary, as we didn't want to draw attention to our table, since the manager loudly came to our table and practically announced to the whole restaurant that I had a food allergy and was concerned. But in general the whole experience wasn't horrible, but great either. I would not go back to Moxie's for a few reasons; 1. It is VERY overpriced, we spend almost $70 in total for a meal that was very small in size. 2. The environment of the restaurant was snooty, and cold and unwelcoming. 3. Most of the female wait staff were dressed inappropriately, as in mini skirts and high heals. :(

Phenomenol!

This is the 2nd time I have visited this location. Party of 6, and a toddler. Great family reseraunt, very wheelchair accesable, and accomadating! The apps were shared by all, and every one of them were absolutly amazing. The Crab cakes were a "blind pick" by a non seafood eater and they were loved by the whole party. Penne Toscana was delicious. Need to ask for spiceyness if wanted! Most other Mians were steak dishes (surf/turf) with bernaise sauce. Steaks were cooked to almost perfection. A chicken Oscar was ordered as well, and was very good. Ice Cream Brownies, Sticky toffee cake, Deep fried Banana thing.........*drooooools* Just PHENOMENOL!

This was our first time visiting this restaurant...

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We went for dinner early on a Saturday evening and were immediately seated. The decor is very masculine with a lot of black and burgundy, leather and velvet. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual. There were people of all ages, from toddlers to the elderly, and attire ranged from suits to shorts. Our waitress greeted us fairly quickly. She seemed new and a bit nervous, as she kept looking down at her paperwork to read us the day's specials and didn't know what domestic beers they had available without looking at her papers. My husband ordered a Coors Light for $4.99. I ordered a pineapple juice for around $2.99. The juice came in a tall glass and was sweet and not at all watery. Then my husband got his beer. The waitress handed him a glass that was clearly dirty, with stains and a filmy substance inside. It was as if she had picked it right out of the pile of dirty dishes. We were not impressed. But she apologized and brought back a freshly cleaned glass. After we ordered our entrees, we had to wait about 15 minutes to get the food. My husband got the beef vindaloo which cost $16.99. It was a mix of steak and vegetables atop jasmine rice with naan bread on the side. The menu says that it was a "very spicy," and they weren't kidding! It's mouth tingling, runny nose spicy. He couldn't even finish it all, and he's a man with a hearty appetite. But it was very tasty. My meal was the grilled chicken breast with pineapple salsa, which cost $17.99. I got two chicken breasts topped with tiny diced pieces of tomato, onion, and pineapple. I also got my choice of seasonal vegetable: I choose the steamed broccoli. The chicken was well-cooked and moist. I also had a baked potato stuffed with a fluffy cream cheese-chives-bacon mixture which was very good. Here is my main complaint of the evening, however: the menu's description for this meal reads: "two 5 oz. chicken breasts served with wild rice pilaf and your choice of seasonal vegetables." At the bottom of the section is text saying that all Classics dishes are served with your choice of garlic mashed potatoes or the baked potato that I described above. Now, one would think that in reading this description, you expect to receive chicken, rice, vegetables, AND potato. But when my meal came, there was no rice to be seen. I then had to wait almost 10 minutes for my server to come back and when I told her the rice was missing, she replied that you only get two sides with the meal - vegetables and EITHER the rice OR the potato. This was very misleading to me because nowhere on the menu does it say that. I expected the rice and felt cheated. However, I didn't argue the point. Overall, the food was good but nothing to write home about. The service was generally slow but friendly. We would go back because we like the ambiance and the menu looks enticing, while the prices are comparable to any other restaurant of its class.
