Thai Bamboo Restaurant

Ordered takeout, got home the chicken wings were dried out with no meat on them, the spring rolls were dry and tasteless and the vegetable tom yum soup tasted like chicken noodle, again no flavour, and the seafood Tom yum soup had 2-3 tiny pieces of seafood in it, complete waste of time and money, never again

Worst food ever

What is up with this place? The Tom Yum reeked of vinegar, had no spice and very little other than a few pieces of tofu. I could not finish half of it without feeling sick. The tamarind chicken also reeked of vinegar, had very little meat and no tamarind that could be tasted. I could only eat a bit and had to stop. My wife's large bowl of Won Ton soup was like water and had 5 tiny wontons....it went on and on between the four in our party and none of us could finish the poorly prepared dishes served to us. We are all used to Thai and similar cuisine and none of use have every had such a disastrous meal. The server was very professional, but none of the food in no way resembled anything remotely edible. For $40, I was left feeling sick to my stomach and hungry at the same time. Maybe the cook was new to Thai cooking, but nobody could be that inept with basic Thai ingredients and use of vinegar. My advice is to pass on this restaurant.

Horrible food!!!!!! The Pad Thai tasted like it was covered with a layer of barbecue sauce. Way too sweet and lacking in any discernible thai spice flavours. I couldn't finish the third bite. When the waitress asked me if I wanted to take it home, I said no. She didn't even ask me if I had a problem with it.

Thank goodness I work rt across the street from here! Cheaper 2 buy @ lunch time (stupid but true) & if working overtime, I will buy @ lunch & keep it 2 eat @ dinner time! they have the best chicken pad Thai, crispy spring rolls & house rice!

Love this spot!

I've been a few times... each time the food is fantastic and it is priced very well. The waitress remembers 6 orders (with special requests) with no problem. No way I could do that!! We really have enjoyed each visit.

Great food!

Food is delicious and fragrant. Portions are huge. Our favourites on the menu are Pad Thai, Green Curry Chicken, Spring Rolls, Cold Rolls, Mango Chicken, Peanut Chicken. We've eaten here alot! Too bad the dining room is so grungy, they really need to recover the chair seats in a wipeable material! Lately we've been getting takeout, which is ready quickly.

Delicious food

The best chicken pad thai in barrie for sure. The portion is huge, so there will be left overs. The staff is friendly, food comes really quick even when busy. My favourite Thai restaurant.

Ordered takeout and it was delicious! Mango chicken especially good.

We visited thai bamboo early after they first opened. At that time food and service were incredible. Recently, we ordered take-out in May '09 and were quite taken aback at the change in quality. The food seemed re-heated. Definitely not as fresh. Last week we decided to give it another chance. Disappointed again. It was so good before!!

Absolutely AMAZING food! The atmosphere was awesome, as well as the service. The servers were so polite and attentive! I went in on Saturday actually, and our waitress was Ashley; she was so friendly, and just a great worker. We will be back again next week!

Food was amazing, from starter, to dessert. We ordered Fried Calamari, and Spring Rolls to start (taste and presentation was excellent!). Main courses were amazing! Service was great too, the server asked how we would like our food, we said "spicy", and our food came out nice and spicy! I have been to many Thai restaurants in Toronto, and Thai Bamboo, beats them all! Great tasting food! Highly recommend for Barrie residents!

Tis is a mazing thai food ,we have been eating thai food all the place but not thing like this , this the best thai food in ontario ,we did not even spent $10 each person and also take half of the food home to eat the nextday, speial pad thai , mango chicken, orange chicken ,chicken curry ,beef curry this is amazing ,you know what I had 6000 coworkers I will let them know to check it out

I used to visit the one in Toronto, boy I am glad they came to Barrie. Not much here...this is very refreshing and the food and prices is really good. I usually bring the food home. The food for Barrie standard is EXCELLENT!

This is the best Thai food I have had in years...

This is the best Thai food I have had in years and is comparable to one of my favourite restaurants in downtown T.O. We had an assortment of apps. along with several main entrees and the portions are generous. Great food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff = return visits.
