WOW! Can't wait to go back!

The Little Inn of Bayfield is a real gem! When we arrived we were greeted and seated with grace. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained options for my dietary restrictions well. The Amuse bouche was creative and well thought out. We enjoyed an appetizer and then the steak. The steak was tender and flavourful and wonderfully presented. We can not wait to return to the Little Inn of Bayfield and have told many people about the wonderful experience we had there.

Although the dinning room is beautiful at the Little Inn of Bayfield, I was disappointed with the vegetarian options. The chef makes it a priority to plan his menu around locally grown, seasonal foods – low on pesticides. And while most of the menu is inventive – bordering on haute cuisine – he falls flat when it comes to vegetarian and vegan dishes. I settled on the summer vegetable tarte – an appetizer – because pasta underwhelms me at the best of times. The wine cellar made up for what the menu lacked though. After our meal, our server knew I wasn’t happy and she spent extra time with us, making sure I had enough to eat. She told us about the wine cellar – and even offered to take us for a tour. We had to go outside and down very old and musty back stairs – and more than one creaky wooden door. Then she told us about the resident ghost, which turned out to be the most delicious part of the evening! If you have any food sensitivities or special requirements, make sure you let the chef know ahead of time.
