A Stones Throw Pub & Grill invites you to their dining room. Their bar is the perfect place for after dinner drinks. They are open at night from Monday to Friday and are conveniently reachable by car but also by public transit.
New to the area we thought we would try this place because most of the reviews were quite good but they must be written by staff or family members. This was The most awful meal we have eaten, I ordered the "AAA Rib filled Yorkshire pudding with potatoes and carrots in gravy, sounds lovely I thought, I had 3 thinly sliced carrots, lots and lots of black button mushrooms, hard chopped potatoes and NO PRIME RIB WHAT-SO-EVER all in a medium size Yorkshire pud, and to top it off it came with a salad, on the same plate, so I moved the salad to a side plate as I don't think salad and gravy should go together, but after eating a bit of what should have been fresh, crisp salad I noticed the lettuce was old and slimey, I was wiping black rotten lettuce on my napkin, it was shocking, would I eat here again???? not even if you paid me!!!
Best burger around. Prices are a little high but we got a Lot for our money. For a pub it is nice and bright with a warm settling. Someone had sizzling mushroom when we were there. I will be going back for them smelled amazing.
We weren't sure what to expect at Stone's Throw after some friends had told us of a previous experience they had. Oh how those friends were mistaken.......
WHAT A NIGHT!!
We arrived in time for Music Bingo which was outstanding, a combination of food and great entertainment was just what we needed. Our bartender David and Music Bingo host Shawn provided us with great food and laughs most of the night. We will definitely be back.
The wraps are fabulous. The beer is ice cold and the wings are good too. You just can't go wrong with this pub and some nights they have live music--I've seen two of David Cavan Fraser's shows here and they don't disappoint!
My Fiancé and I have been to this location twice. The atmosphere is fantastic. The first time we went, the service was very slow, but the food was fantastic.
The second time we went was absolutely horrible. We were both very disappointed. It took 25-30 minutes to receive our appetizer, and when we finally received our entrees 45 minutes later, my Fiancés fries were under cooked, he had requested BBQ sauce on his burger which arrived drenched in hot sauce, and it was borderline undercooked. My burger on the other hand was raw. The top of my hamburger bun was actually soaked with blood and the meat was completely under cooked. I complained to the manager (or owner… I’m not sure who she was) and she took the burger of our bill. As I’m writing this review, my fiancé and I are currently waiting for the food poisoning to kick in. I would not recommend “The Stones Throw” to anyone.
This restaurant needs to hire more staff, train them properly, and fire their current kitchen staff.
Went here with some friends, (actually we got here about once a month) and sat right in the front row for a show by David Cavan, amazing, definitely the best enteratiner we've ever seen here. They have decent food and very good beer prices ($3.50 tall boys).
They have live music on Fridays and Saturdays and don't do UFC which is awesome.
Been there in the past and wasn't that impressed. Yet always found staff great. Their new menu really made a difference. Food was traditional and full of flavor. Happy to see a place with great atmoshere turn themselves around. Nice job!! I love the homeade burgers.
Yes the service does suck here, I've been back many times, mostly for the live music, it's amazing who they get to play here. The beer is good and despite what a lot of people say the food is GREAT, IF it gets to your table before it's completely stone cold. They always seem short waitresses, which leads to bad service. Hopefully things are improving in this area.

Worst place I have ever been. Myself and some of my girl friends have been there a few times now. First of all, the service is AWFUL! I have never seen service as poor as this place in my life. When my meal finally came out (45 minutes after I ordered, and there were only 2 other tables in the whole place) it was disgusting! Cold, and looked like it was left over from the day before. 25 minutes after receiving the food, we finally went to find our server and asked for our bill, when she returned to see that none of us had eaten our meals, she did have enough common sense to ask us why, but when we told her, her reply was "oops it happens". Don't waste your time or money on this place!
Went there on a Saturday night. First the door guy was rude to us, second it took forever to get a drink, there was only one bar tender and he was very slow and made my long island iced tea wrong! I ordered potato skins and all it is is a mountain of onions covered in cheese, it was sooooo gross!!!!

There are few good little places in bowmanville to get a drink and a great meal. This is one of them!

I went there for my work x-mas party and it was really nice on the inside. The restaurant and bathrooms were spotless. The food was really good, though service was a little slow (they need more people the place was packed and there were only 3 servers) but friendly and it was overall really enjoyable
