Been going their for years. Last couple visits noticed a decline in cooking and food quality. Food over cooked and told waitress who was quite understanding. No discount on the meal so we assume no responsibility for poor food prep. This will be our last visit.
What a horrible experience. I have been coming here since I was a kid, but the interactions I have had with the "owner" on my last two visits has left me shocked and appalled! I ordered take-out and the meals were wrong and cooked horribly, we couldn't even eat them. According to him the customer is always the problem. I was not unreasonable and he told me to not come back. Said there are a lot of other restaurants I can go to.
The grilled cheese sandwich with bacon was cooked perfectly! And the poutine was also perfect! Highly recommended restaurant
i was at olympia ,the place was totally change ,nice and fresh ,i love thier breakfast ,friendly sevrvice ,u get good portion and price is fare
There's nothing that really stands out about Olympia on the positive or negative side (although that's been changing a bit recently). It's your typical greasy spoon diner experience. Although it's not a great experience, it is a cheap way to start a stress free weekend (no cooking or dishes to start one's day). Unfortunately, their service has somewhat dwindled over the past six months or so. Orders come out more slowly, they don't greet you for quite some time, additional reminders are required for items requested (e.g., ketchup, extra jam). Nonetheless, they seem to be doing quite well since the place is always packed. Hopefully the service picks up again.
u can get burger any where, olympia known for breakfast,that's my regular visit i order burger spl i got burger with fried onion&mushroom&cheese$bacon that huge OMG that was soooo good,
By definition, a sandwich is an item of food consisting of two pieces of bread with meat, cheese, or other filling between them. I asked for a hot liver sandwich and specifically asked to have a top to this sandwich. Clearly they were confused as I received two pieces of bread with nothing between them then topped with meat and gravy. I suppose I could understand the confusion but the attitude when I asked if they could add a piece of bread to the top was not acceptable. I forget her name but it wasn't the nice waitress with star tattoo's who's served me before.... it's the other one. Guessing the cook didn't take any cuisine lessons considering he struggeled with the fundementals of a sandwich.

Typical run down greasy spoon !!!!! ... but ...for weekend full breakfast ...... only place to go in Bowmanville. Have to go early to miss the church crowd, and because of that the place becomes a "cattle call". Seems to be a very regular crowd there. Food is good, and portions are large. Service is friendly enough. I have also been to other spots in town for breakfast, and this would be my choice for price and quality of food.
I thought I'd swing by the Olympia last Sunday. I've lived in Bowmanville my whole life (I'm 63) and I had never even heard of this place until that tragic Sunday. I picked the table by the window so I could scope out the townsfolk while eating my breakfast of bacon and coleslaw on rye (a childhood favourite) Prior to this I had been having problems with my bladder, so I got up to go to the little ladies' room. Unfortunately, the incompetent parents of a disgusting two year old at table 4 failed to notice when their little girl spit up ketchup all over my path. I didn't notice this but my feet sure did. I slipped and did a 360 into the child (intentionally) This shocking incident caused me to make an accident of my own. The waitress proceeded to screech at me and abruptly left.
i have been going here ever sence i was a very young kid, my mom went here for lunch everyday on her lunch hour, the food and people were great ten years ago and still to this day :). the owners have made it personal for us remembering our names and now the names of our kids
That's my daily visit to this restaurant I like their homemade soup, I enjoy every spoon.

i order hot turkey that was very good with just amount of gravy coverd the meat, and my wife orderd clubhouse that is big size sandwich. we like the food and place
i order breakfast ,and i got nice plate in front of me, the breakfast is very good ,homefries too good
we ordered breakfast. we reported to the waitress a hair on the meal. she shrugged her shoulders and looked angry at us . and then handed us the bill. not a clean place
the waitress spoke little english and confused us. we had two plates of fries and she came around around 8 minutes later with the bill. i think they should insist on hiring more people.
Ordered breakfast, the waitress spilt the orange juice on the table and walked away. She never returned to ask how the meal was going, someone else brought the food, she didn't ask if we wanted anything more, and dropped us off the bill before we were ready to leave.
Best Breakfast in Town! Girls are great and very friendly, it's like sitting in your own kitchen.
