Good experience and good food however I asked two people what is steamed sweet bread on the hot counter. One girl said bread that is sweet. My husband said it tasted like veal or sausage. Still wonder what it really was. I thought sweet breads was brains.

Horrible tasting, cold food. Hoping to not vomit after this meal. Tried to tell the owner but he was sarcastic and condescending. Disgusting. We will never return.

Ordered food for 5 o'clock. Arrived at 4:35. We did not expect it to be ready, however it was. When we got it home which was 10 minutes away, the food was cold, so obviously it had been made way to early and left sitting. The beef was tough and lacked flavor. In fact all the food, fried rice, Tai Dop Voy all lacked flavor. The wonton soup was good. Prices were increased by a dollar per item, due to Christmas. Very expensive meal and very poor flavor. Very disappointed, with new owners

Actually I have been ordering here for years. However, the past 2 times I have been very unhappy : First they had no delivery person and one and a half hours later, I had to cancel. No dinner that night! Second time I ordered my usual and they had changed the sesame chicken dish to some kind of chicken/pineapple stew - horrible. So I will never order from them again. Also, no offer of a refund of any kind! Poor business ethic. So disappointed. Brantford.

We went at 5pm on...

We went at 5pm on a Friday. The food tasted like it had been sitting out all day. There were many things I didn't eat because they didn't taste good. Very disappointed considering we spent $21.99 each. on a positive note the waitress was excellent.

Awful service and food!!

We took some company with us this Wednesday to the Brantford location. We had a certificate worth $200 to redeem, and we were told by the gentleman behind the counter (manager or owner?) that we had to take 4 x $50 gift cards, and if our bill was higher than $50, we could use one gift card and pay the rest in cash or debit. He also proceeded to tell us if we paid with 2 gift cards, we would lose out on the remaining balance on the gift card I was always under the impression, when a gift card is used, you do not lose out on the remaining balance, and was wondering if this is a regular practice of the Kings buffet chain to treat regular customers in this manner reguarding gift cards. I am certainly not impressed, as neither were the other couple we were with, and if this is the manner in which the chain handles gift cards, it is a totally disgusting way to rip customers off, and is a huge turn off to want to return! This is definitely no incentive to make customers return. The food is sorely lacking in freshness, variety and taste! We went at 6pm and there is no excuse for the food looking and tasting as if it had been sitting there a long time, unless it was leftovers from lunch. There were no honey garlic wings, but were honey garlic ribs which were tough, and inedible. The roast was so fatty and tasteless, rice was dry..and the list goes on. The waitress tried rushing us, saying I'll bring over the machine (for debit) when we were just sitting and chatting, catching up..we were like huh? I told her we didnt have dessert yet. I would think that in this day and age of social media, and an economy that is not well, the restaurant would do everything possible to keep loyal customers returning, and encouraging them to bring guests. They have definitely not done that with us, and have strongly discouraged us from wanting to return, as we have so many other options in Brantford, and another local Chinese buffet, with better food, better price and better customer service. We thought with their new renovations, it would be great, boy were we wrong!! It's worse than ever, and embarrassing to take friends/family/staff and co- workers to.Truly and utterly, dismayed with Kings Buffet Brantford. Never again. ps do not purchase gift cards, you will lose out on money!

Great Food! Friendly Service!

I love King's Buffet! It is like the Mandarin, but not as large. The food is delicious, everything is fresh and there is so much to choose from! The service is great, they are very accomodating, and treat every customer with respect. I loved going up and eating as many times as I wanted. King's Buffet is definitely the way to go if you are looking for a good Chinese buffet. Will be back, guaranteed!

We have gone here several times for the buffet and have always enjoyed it. Take out however, is a different story. We ordered a LOT of food to last us for a couple day, as we wouldn't be able to cook for the weekend. The crispy beef (ten dollars(,normally excellent at the buffet was floppy, tough and had a layer of fat stuck to every piece of it. I also ordered mixed vegetables and got a take out container of brocolli. I was disappointed. If I wasn't so glad to finally be home, I would have turned around and taken it back. I will still go into the location, but won't order take out from them again.

On the whole, this place is well worth becoming...

On the whole, this place is well worth becoming familiar with. (I'm free to end a sentence with a preposition without criticism, up with which I will not put!) :-) Here's a good tip for you: A friend and I go here a lot, but since they stop seating at 9:30pm or so, they attend the buffet less after this time. If you go earlier in the evening/afternoon/day things are fine. Good food, attentive service and nice atmosphere; they come by and ask how things are, they sweep away the used crockery as soon as you head off to the buffet again, check to see if you need more coffee/beverages. This visit, for example, at 9pm at night, the buffet was getting low on some items. The fried rice was a bit lackluster and the standing Prime Rib was a tad on the cool side. On the other hand, my friend loaded up on Snow crab legs and clarified butter and had a good time. And the service was as good as ever. This is a Chinese Buffet, and they make good Chinese food, like pepper beef, lemon chicken, and really nice chicken wings (not battered, but deep fried in oil in a wok -- good item) as well as big juicy shrimp in chinese vegetables, the ubiquitous chicken balls with Sweet & Sour sauce and so on. But they also have crab and Prime Rib and a number of unusual things that everyone can enjoy. Not to mention (then why did I mention it?) their desserts, which included lots of assorted little cake slices (one of each kind pre-sliced on plates over the cooler window) or, on request from the cooler selection if someone beat you to the coconut, mango, strawberry, green tea or Black Forest that you particularly wanted. As well, they have two different types of almond cookies (I'm an aficionado) and variegated dessert items like fresh fruit. Explore the place and find all the neat-o items they have around. As well, the liquor is comparatively inexpensive, such as Mai Tai for less that $5, like most of their mixed drinks, or Coolers for less than $4. Better than your average bar in that respect.
