Great place to go with friends. Im a regular here, love the service and food
What I look for in an English pub can pretty much be found right here. Food is good and authentic, beer selection is great, though wouldn't mind seeing some cask ales, and a sassy publican who treats her customers well. As for the food, last time I was there I had the Beef Curry on rice. Very spicy, good flavor, meat was not fatty and curry was not greasy. Wife had the Steak and Mushroom pie. Filling was full flavored and the meat was nice and lean. This place is very small and it makes for close quarters, decor is authentic and very English, just a very comfortable place to eat and drink. Only downside worth mentioning is on some nights they'll host a live band, and because the place is as small as it is I find it uncomfortably loud. Otherwise, I love this place.
As usual, very good service. The manager actually really cares about her customers and it show's. The kitchen does a good job of getting food out on time and always taste good.
We visited this convenient pub on the main street in Galt/Cambridge during a festival. The food was plentiful and ok . My concern was that smokers were allowed to smoke under the roof framework of this patio. One gentleman was smoking a cigar right next to us who were all non-smokers. I will not go there again unless it it winter and hopefully they do not allow smokers inside. Nothing was done when mentioned to the server.
Great pub grub. Decent beer selection. The staff is always friendly. Great location in historic downtown Galt (across the street from the Grand River). We have found OUR pub.
This is a regular for my wife and I, my friends and I, and a bunch of strangers and I. It's a homey atmosphere, with no attitude from the servers. It's a pub, so keep the expectations appropriate. They do pub-style well, and have some of the best bartenders in the area. Their beer selection can't be beat in Cambridge and prices are among the fairest. It's official - this is my "regular".
One of the best UK-style pubs in the region, they blend English classics from both the good ol' days to the modern curry invasion. The Chicken Curry is the best I've had since moving to Cambridge over a year ago, far better than any Indian restaurant I've visited. The Butter Chicken could've been less saucy, but was excellent. If only they used real naan bread instead of trying to pass off pocketless pitas as naan. Service is always good - food was hot, beers were cold. A great Friday night of hearty food.
I've been here a few times, and will (I'm sure) go back again. It's become really a 'change of scenery' place for myself and a few friends. The beer selection is great, and the food is alright. The problem with this place is that it's so slow. If you've got a little bit of patience, I'd say give it a try..... if not, take a pass.

Myself and 2 of my friends go there every Friday for Perogies and they are the best I have ever eaten. Our server is usually Nicole and she is great. She always makes sure that we have our food in time knowing that we have to go back to work in 1 hour. I speak for myself and my 2 friends when I say that we will not change our routine and will continue to go there every Friday if for nothing but to see Nicole's smile and a coffee.
I find this a great place for Pub food.. Liver and Onions the best in Town... Julie is Great.. and so are the wait staff... reasonably fast.. they never seem to walk by without making sure you have a beer !
The Badger is what it is. I've been coming here for beers for YEARS, and the menu hasn't changed much-but they do pub grub well. We come here as a team atleast twice a month. The fries with curry sauce isn't really curry sauce at all-more of a vindaloo sauce (could be pataks) but is still good. The butter chicken has bell peppers in it which is a bit odd to me. Wings are great-and 2 for 1 on Mondays and a variety of sauces. Nachos are piled high and lovely. Julie is fantastic and always friendly and attentive.
We have no complaints. Good food, good service and good atmosphere.
Fantastic garlic bread Service with smiles would be an improvement
I come here regularly to have a drink and often have food. The food is very good, best bar food you can get. I think every day there's a special meal, my personal favourite would be the Prime Rib dinner which comes with a heap of mashed potatoes, vegetables, and a thick delicious slab of prime rib with a side of horse radish of course. Sometimes it's very busy so you might feel like it takes a while to get around to you but the girls there are real sweethearts that will treat you right.
I ordered the taco salade. It was cold when they served it, and the sour cream tasted like mayonnaise. It was poor tasting. I did notice that no body else was ordering food. I think it is more of a place to go for a drink. The waitress was not friendly at all. I was left feeling like I was an inconvenience.
