Handles complicated allergies!

An Italian restaurant that was happy to accommodate a garlic, wheat, and dairy free constraints. The food was delicious and they did everything in their power to ensure we could eat what came to our table. Our server Wendy was amazing. It was a great experience.

Fresh, Delicious and Fast

I love the atmosphere. It's cozy, classy and well appointed. I'd almost expect to see Frank Sinatra sitting at the side table. Service was friendly, welcoming and very efficient. In no time we had drinks and the bread on the table. My salad was Caesar delicious and super fresh. Love their homemade dressing. I had Seafood Linguini. Fantastic!! Very generous on the shrimps, scallops and crab meat. Again the sauce was delicious. No need to pepper or anything else to add. For my taste it was just perfect. My partner had Linguini with Pesto with Salmon and the fragrance of the pesto perfumed the air all around us. Divine. We didn't have dessert this time because we were so full. This was our second visit and we will continue to go back. It's a great place, we love it because not only is the food fantastic, but the people are fantastic too. It's like family. As we drove away from the parking lot I saw why the food was so good and fresh....there on the back porch, by the kitchen door were roughly 8 or 10 pots of fresh herbs. That's the secret. See you again next time we're in Cornwall.

Very nice restaurant in Cornwall

I'm from montreal and i've been working in cornwall for 2 months. I have to say that there is not a lot of nice restaurants in Cornwall but surely Casa Paolo is one of them! I've been in most of Cornwall good restaurant and price wise it a good choice. I like good wine and they must have the biggest selection in town. We we're a group of ten the last time I went so I had the chance to taste a few meal. I stronghly recommand the steak or the veal. The owner, Caterina, came at our table a few time to see if everything was ok. I recommand this restaurant but like every good restaurant, you must try the house speciality STEAK or VEAL Bonne appétit!

This was my first visit to this restaurant. I...

This was my first visit to this restaurant. I ordered the calamari and this starter was awesome. The rings were covered in a light batter and were done perfectly. If not removed from the oil at the right time they become very rubbery. The presentation and sauce were spot on. I tried the bruschetta (ordered by a friend) and it too was very well done. Finely chopped tomatoes, light garlic and fresh basil with extra virgin olive oil. The minestrone soup was a real treat. Light and flavorful made with fresh ingredients. Properly seasoned as it did not require salt or pepper. I tasted the barley soup and it was not that great. Bland and lacking seasoning. My main dish appeared and the smell and presentation was quite good. A small rock lobster tail adorned the top of the pasta. It was split on the top and appeared to be cooked under the broiler. The tail was clearly cooked too long. The seafood linguine was made with fresh pasta, butter, cream and parmesan cheese. The classical al dente firmness of the pasta was a pleasurable change. The seafood included tiny shrimps, tiny chunks that could have been bay scallops, imitation crab, and other tiny fish chunks. The entire combo was indeed quite creamy and very rich. I liked it. My wife ordered a Shrimp and pasta dish Alfredo. She was delighted with the meal. However charging $3.00 for the Alfredo sauce was a surprise as this charge was not indicated on the menu. I must say that the servants were awesome. The deserts are not prepared in the kitchen however special care is taken on the plating and presentation. They were over the top rich and quite special. This is finer dining and the prices reflect this. The wine list is on the pricier side given the labels offered. 2 Starters, 1 Soup, 1 Salad, 2 Mains + Alfredo Charge, 1 desert --$63 -- Our friends bought the wine. My wife wants to return for her birthday and anniversary. I certainly won't object. She is quite fussy and this eatery is very much to her liking.

Hearing that this was a fine restaurant in...

Hearing that this was a fine restaurant in Cornwall my partner and I thought we ought to give it a go. Upon arrival there was no offer for our coats to be taken so things started well. Our waitress was very rude and even less attentive. After being made to feel rather uncomfortable we placed our orders. The calamari was slightly undercooked and the marinara sause was definately from a jar and not a good one at that. The antipasti was sorely dissapointing too. There was as far as i could tell maple cured ham on the plate! After starter our waitress thought it might be nice for us to have some bread so brought out some microwave warmed bread rolls. In the succeeding seconds it had cooled and was chewy. Main course: The steak was actually good but with rather bland accoutrements. The Veal "special" i can't remember the actual sauce but it was on the specials menu was absolutely repugnant. I'm not usually so scathing on a meal but this was terrible. The veal had been beaten to death and it was still like leather, this was confirmed by my partner. The sauce had no idea what it was supposed to be (perhaps alarm bells should have rung when reading the menu and the amount of flavours in the sauce) but it contained; wine, cream, mushrooms, brandy "all sounding well so far" and... pickled capers, pickled artichoke and whole black peppers. This ramshakle was served with linguini with the same sauce as had accompanied the calamari. It was after the main that we called it a day, paid up and left whole heartedly dissapointed.

We dine at Casa Paolo every time we visit...

We dine at Casa Paolo every time we visit Cornwall, but were disappointed this last time. I ate the salad, which came with the meal because my husband does not eat salad. I ordered soup from the menu. My husband ordered chicken parmesan. The service this time was mediocre and the serving smaller than previously. I was appalled when we were charged a $2.00 "sharing charge" on our bill. We did not share a meal, I ordered soup, which for me was plenty. I wrote to the owner/manager when we returned home, but have never received a response. I guess our business doesn't mean that much to them. I doubt we will dine there again.

A winner. The owners circulate through the place ensuring everyone's satisfaction. The food is to order, take your time and sip your wine. The calamari is light and wonderful. Every dish I've had there was fantastic: pasta with capers once; piccata another time... the only problem is it is pricey; the wine list is not affordable. oh, and Frank Sinatra can really get on your nerves after a while, but when it's busy it's not so noticeable.

My husband and I dine at Casa Paolo quite frequently and therefore it was the number one restaurant choice when we had guests down from Toronto. We thoroughly enjoyed an array of tender veal, succulent steak, chicken, seafood and homemade pasta dishes that were "out of this world". Not to mention the warm ambiance and the exquisite wine selection. It was a dining experience enjoyed by all!

Ten of us descended upon Casa Paolo for my Aunt's birthday. We had a good mix of Italian food; the pasta, veal, steak, soup and appetizers were all very good. I thought my veal was overcooked but the pasta was cooked perfectly, "al dente." There were no complaints from anyone else. This is the best Italian food in Cornwall.

After hearing great reviews we decided to try this restaurant on a special occasion with a "Reservation". We were seated near the back door that was being used by customers leaving on a -18'c evening and this was after being asked to be moved once before in a restaurant that was only 20% full. Ordered our steaks (Medium) and they were both rare, rare. The Lobster was mushy meaning not cooked enough. After bring this to the staff's attention nothing was done as though they could care less. Were not the type of people to complain but I now wish I had done more.
