The food is usually very good. The service is good. The woman that owns the place is snotty towards the customers but the staff are very nice.

Feeling of Home

Great service, delicious home style food, and a pleasant cozy atmosphere has you relaxing instantly. Come here for a taste of cooking the way it used to be.

A very pleasant dining experience!

This was just our second visit and our first for dinner. My wife and I both had the buffet. There was nice selection of salads and entrees along with two choices of soup. My wife is not a typical buffet person but enjoyed this one very much. I found a terrific selection of meats and vegetables and tried almost everything there. All was very good and we definitely will be returning some time soon even though it is a two hour drive for us. The service was excellent and our waitress Leona assured our experience was good by checking on us constantly. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and are already planning to take some friends and relatives for a other feast.

A hard to review buffet

This buffet is a good choice for large groups with a variety of tastes. There is quite a large selection of items and it has definite home-cooked bent to it. If you like simple, home-cooked, and german style foods you'll find lots to your taste. The dessert buffet was especially good and very 'home-baked' in taste. There were definite compromises made on some items on the buffet but there were many tasty dishes that made up for the mediocre ones. We took a large extended family group and everyone was satisfied, if not blown away. Lots of choices for kids and older folks who don't like adventurous dishes. Simple, home-cooked and tasty food for the most part. Decor is very simple and a little old-fashioned... but it is mennonite country.. go with the flow :) I think overall it is a good value.

We are always looking for family friendly restaurants to take our four young children. We were enthusiastically greeted when we entered and our kids were given little goodie bags with colouring books, crayons and playdough. We were promptly seated and everyone from the hostess to the waitstaff was super friendly. The food was great, home cooked, and the selection was huge. Would definitely return.

Delicious!

Im very confused by all of the negative reviews! The food was absolutely delicious with a large selection. Everything was hot. Buffet ended at 8pm and even at 7:45 they were bringing out more food. The service was very good. The best is the dessert selections, so much to choose from. Will definetly be returning again and again!

I would have to say that my opinion is a little differant from the last one, and that is great because that is what keeps life interesting. My Husband has ordered the liver & onions on 2 seperate occasions and has enjoyed his meal. I usually eat from the buffet and have yet to have a bad meal. I would like to add that I believe I have enjoyed my meals because it is the style of food I have set out for. It is most definitely a home style meal, it reminds me of what my Grandma used to make (yummy). If I was in the mood for steak, seafood or some other speciallty then the crossroads in not where I would go. I hope that my own opinion is respected as I respect others and their opinions, I do not consider it appropriate to acuse people of being relatives or staff when they are writing what I would like to think is their own honest opinion.

Quantity - NOT Quality!

Been here three times in 3 years. Each time worse than the last. Arrived early, meats were alreay dried, food overcooked - salad bar is pitiful. Vegetables are mostly sweetened. Altogether unhealthy food. My companion took buffet and regretted it - I went for the menu instead tonight. Liver and onions. I have NEVER in any restaurant seen such a pitifully small portion of liver which still happens to be a rather cheap meat. $12.75 and the liver portion was less than half the size of what I have had in other restaurants for $8.99-10.99. The liver was buried under a mound of half cooked onions. The mashed potatoe mountain covered a third of the plate and the veggies - overcooked and soggy another third. I nformed my server that I was very disappointed, and as expected she did nothing at all. I left still hungry since I did not consume the mountain of potatoe and the soggy fried onions which I put on a sideplate. Never again! I did eat the one slice of bread that came with the meal. The buffet is luke warm, most items usually overcooked with the consistency of baby food. They tend to sweeten everything, including the vegetables. The only desert worth having is the hot apple dumpling with a side of ice cream. The rest of it - you can find better in the local supermarket. If you want quality - stay away - if you want to fill your plate six times and don't care what it tastes like this is a great place for you.

Best buffet!

This is my favourite buffet. The selection always changes, the food is flavourful and there is always a wide variety. I've eaten many meals At The Crossroads over the years and they've never had a miss in my books. I count of them for effiecient, friendly service, great food and a homey atmosphere. Took a client and family out for a meal and they all enjoyed the variety offered on the buffet. Even the vegetarian was impressed. Meat was tender and juicy, soups were flavourful, salads were cold and crisp. Many choices of pie, ice cream and squares for dessert, the server was very quick rwith efills of coffee and cold drinks. Anton, Julie and team make it look easy to run a buffet restaurant - great job.

Some of the reviews amaze me. Must have got out of bed the wrong side! As organiser of a party of 40 seniors and on behalf of my wife and myself who have also visited th place before, we ALL agree that the meal we had was very very good. The service was constant and very helpful. Aways a smile and continuus refills of coffee. The buffet was extensive, hot and tasty. The variety was small but the beef, chicken and meat balls were all very good. As for the desserts...Wow! if you couldn't satisfy your 'pie' taste - cream pie, mud pie, apple pie, custard tart etc and then there was trifle and hot desserts too. Overall our party of 40 very particular seniors voted unanimously that it was an excellent meal. Good value for the money too. Look forward to visiting again. Thanks Julie and team.

I am a little picky when it comes food! I enjoy good quality food and I find Crossroads very average! It is not a cozy atmosphere and it is to darn crowded. Expensive
