We ordered delivery, which was a surprising $10. Guy on the phone had a bit of a language barrier, but he was nice.
First, the garlic bread. Not too impressed. I'm used to garlic bread coming on a thinner, more crispy bread. This was more like a fluffy loaf. Didn't taste any garlic, and just way too much bun over all. They were big servings though.
My husband had the Spaghetti with Meatballs. Not impressed on this dish either. He said the sauce tasted like it was either canned, or sitting around for a while. And the noodles tasted like they'd been sitting in the sauce too long and had absorbed the sauce. He normally loves spaghetti with meatballs, this dish he barely touched. Again though, huge helping.
I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with added mushrooms. I have definitely had better elsewhere. I have even made better myself. The noodles were too soft from being over cooked. I had hoped for al dente since this is an Italian restaurant. The sauce was bland. Overall, there was nothing to this dish that made me want to keep eating it.
I was very disappointed with this place after reading all the rave reviews. Maybe the pizza really is as good as people say, but based on the food we just ate, we will not be ordering from this place again. The only good thing about what we ordered is how much was served. I could probably make 3-4 meals out of one dish. But I would rather sacrifice serving size to get a great tasting meal that I don't mind spending a total of $46 on.
I went to Alfredo's for the first time today because of the rave reviews I have read and it did NOT disappoint! I tried the pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs. The taste is authentic Italian and SO fresh! The sauce they use is delicious! Alfredo himself is so friendly and and kind. He makes you feel right at home! I just wish that there was more of a seating area since I live kind of far to come and get it for take-out (which is the main business they do). I would highly recommend Alfredo's Place to anyone who loves authentic Italian food!
We have ordered from here on numerous occasions, and have found this to be the best pizza not only on the Mountain, but all of Hamilton. We ordered thin crust, well done, with a variety of toppings, and we are always guaranteed the best pizza ever! We will never go anywhere else! The owner is incredible...truly the best! Absolutely nothing like the usual pizza chains. This is authentic!
Alfredo's Place is located in a part of Hamilton that is not that attractive. The entrance to the restaurant is not very promising, and there are only three tables, the rest of the square footage being occupied with a take-out window and the kitchen. To get to the washroom, one must walk through the work area.
That said, the food was well prepared and delicious. Portions were really generous and everything smelled and tasted wonderful. We had a lot left over to take home, and the hosts were very attentive, helping to save leftovers, etc. Good experience.
This pizza isn't even edible! I wouldn't even feed it to my dog... Literally!!! $35 for 2 large 3 topping pizza's which is expensive compared to everyone else and it will be going in the garbage. Over cooked, dry like cardboard, ingredients taste bad, sauce bad, hard nasty cheese, arrived cold. Please people don't waste your money. Its hard to make a pizza this bad. I seriously wonder where the good reviews came from... You couldn't pay me to eat this pizza!!!! Ps I'm only giving it one star because I have to :(
When I lived downtown, we ordered Mattina's Pizza faithfuly. After living up here for 5 years we have finally found a comparable pizza place.
Their bruschetta, and veal sandwich, and blooming onion are also great. Huge portions!!!
Best pizza place in Hamilton! The people working there are very friendly. They make a taco pizza that is literally the best thing I've ever eaten. Highly recommend this place!!
My husband and I were carbloading for a race and heard we could get good pasta here. We heard right! We ordered two pasta dishes and there was enough food for 2 meals each and then we even had to throw some out. It was so good we went back 2 weeks later and shared a pasta meal with a small garden salad (didn't care for all the olives) and extra garlic bread. We still had enough for dinner and a light lunch. On our frist visit, Alfredo was working and he was so personable, he made the 20 minute wait fun. When we walked in he knew it was our first time and asked who sent us. It is that kind of place - you can't help but recommend it to everyone you know. We can't wait to try the pizza!
super food...Alfredo himself met with us while we waited for our food...portions were huge...taste was amazing...price was very reasonable. We will definitely return. My only critique was the fact that it was takeout only...
We order Alfredo's take out at least once a month in the office. The pasta meals are colossal and enough to feed two people. Had the spaghetti & meatballs, meat ravioli, chicken parm, and special sandwich. It was delicious. Great value for money.
My only gripe is that he's closed on Mondays, but making all that pasta must tire him out.
A friend of ours asked to try Alfredo's since he was a good friend of Alfredo. Since our first try, we will not go anywhere else for pizza!!
Not to mention, their panzerotti's are fantastic and you order them by pizza size, which means ordering a large panzerotti uses the same amount of dough and fillings as if you ordered a large pizza. The price cannot compare. It is so well priced and so delicious.

We've been here many times since discovering it about a year ago. The people there are genuinely friendly, and the quality and taste of the food is excellent - everything you want from a mom & pop pizza place. A relative living in Japan came to visit and we had ordered from Alfredos - he was delighted. Highly recommended.
I tried Alfredo's after hearing great things about it. I've driven by it so many times, but didn't ever think about trying it.
The pizza was very good. The quality of the pizza does not match the price you pay (in a good way!)
It's hard rating the atmosphere as it isn't meant as a dine-in restaurant.

The toppings are thoughtfully placed onto the pizza, not thrown around like the pizza chains do! Also, the sauce is perfect. The crust is homemade!

The people are so friendly at Alfredo's Place, and they take a great deal of pride in their food. Excellent home-made pizza with lots of toppings, and the pizzas are larger than average. So much better than the chains!

This place has great pizza but buyer be warned it is not a restaurant. I made the mistake of thinking it was a small italian restaurant. It's great and I'm not trying to take anything away from it, but it's a simple pizza counter. Tuesday and Wednesdays are cheap large pizza nights. Kitchen is open and you can watch your pizza being created. Highly recommend, but remember, its a pizza counter. No where to sit.
I have found only one other place in Hamilton that offers potato pizza - a most pleasant change from "regular" pizza. Both pizzas were fantastic and the wings, judging by the speed at which they were consumed, were equally good! Definitely would order from there again and wouldn't hesitate to try their other menu items.
