My husband, daughter and son-in-law and my-self were there on Thursday July 20th in the evening, service was very good prompt and courteous. The food ordered by all four of was very good not one complaint from the table. For Italian food we would go back, it was hot, tasty and well presented.

Worst service I have ever experienced

Very inadequate service. Not only was our wait time ridiculous, but the wait staff was very unapologetic. We were a group of 12. Most of the party had pre-ordered and was still left waiting 45 minutes for their meals (including salads). We were not served any bread, and were offered no apologies (until the end when we complained). Pizza was actually quite delicious... but I may be biased since I was starving after waiting an hour to eat it!

My son and I enjoyed a delicious pizza in this friendly, quiet, comfortable restaurant. It was hot, ingredients fresh and good portion size. We were pleasantly surprised when one of the owners made the kind gesture to come over to our table, introduce himself and ask how we were enjoying everything. We felt so welcome and will happily return again :)

What a find!

I was looking for somewhere to go close to the movie theatre never imagining that I would happen upon a diamond in the rough. Sharing a plaza with Fortino's regional office, the exterior doesn't come close to foreshadowing the "Uptown-Nonna" cuisine and ambience you can expect inside Romano's. The place has a modern warmth as soon as you walk in. There is a great blend of modern and classic finishes in appealing earth tones with some contemporary design touches to remind you that Nonna's gone chic. The menu is classic with Pizza, Pasta, Risotto, and Entrées that will whet any Italian appetite. Having been burned by some bad Italian of late we were nervous to try any antipasti on our first visit so we went straight for dinner. I had been craving pasta with clams for a while so I ordered the Spaghetti con Vongole with the white wine sauce. The pasta could have been a touch more al dente for me, but it was by no means overcooked. The clam to pasta ratio was insane; so many delicious clams and the sauce was the perfect savoury counterpoint. Both of my fellow diners went for the risotto, one the frutti di mare (seafood) and the other porcini. Yes I took a taste of both of them, don't judge me. :-P The seafood version was seasoned to perfection with perfectly cooked pieces of seafood strewn throughout, everything from scallops to mussels to calimari. The porcini risotto had a beautifully deep mushroom flavour although there was some seasoning missing somewhere along the cooking process that left the rice a little flat. Still scrumptious though. The desserts were shared amongst the three of us. While they were not house-made, they certainly were made with care by somebody! The tiramisu was the best I've ever had at a restaurant in the area. It came the closest to being as good as mine as anyone ever has. The other dessert we tried was a Bomba, Layers of Mango, Raspberry, and I think Passionfruit sorbet enrobed in a crisp white chocolate shell. Truly refreshing and delicious plus the sorbets weren't cloyingly sweet as so many are, you could really taste the fruit in these ones. $100 for three people with wine and dessert plus some of the best Italian food I've had in Hamilton. Who's about to become a regular and has two thumbs? This guy!
