This place is *always* packed for breakfast, and is considered by many to be the quintessential greasy spoon of the neighbourhood. Lots of choices on the menu (NB: fresh fruit is often unavailable, unfortunately), and good-sized portions. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere... we probably go there at least twice a month.
This was my second visit, both for breakfast. Both times we waited for a table but it was quick getting one. I like this restaurant b/c I like the atmosphere! And it's the perfect Sunday to wander along Locke street looking in the shops afer a big breakfast! However, the food could and should be much better! How hard is it to screw up breakfast??? Apparently not very! I would probably go again though just b/c of lack of choices on Locke street that I'm aware of anyway....
What kind of restaurant serves a hamburger for over $8.00 and does not include a side (Fries, salad).
I you want fries with your burger you have to pay an extra $3.00. Needless to say I did not stay, Instead I waled a few doors over to a restaurant that does not trick their customers.

Im a vegetarian. I ordered a vegetarian sandwich, off the vegetarian menu. The server even told me what vegetables were in it, so I knew she knew what I had ordered.
It came out with ham in it. The place is dim. I checked it over and thought they were red onions or tomatoes, but no, lots of ham. I ate a part of this sandwich and was very very very horrified when I found meat in it. As I have not eaten it in many years, and planned to keep it that way.
After a different server than ours apologised and gave us the bill (which i did not pay a cent for my disgusting food) we left.
The server that served me was nowhere to be seen. No apology, no explanation, not a word or aknowledgment.
Otherwise when we have been there, the service has been slow and the food OK. Needless to say, Im not going back.

I always used to come here for breakfast after a late night out. This place was always the best for nice big greasy breakfasts. It seems as though ever since it expanded a few years ago, the food and service has gone downhill. I've eaten here a few times lately to "give it one more chance" because it is still always busy. The breakfast is still big and greasy, but the last few times has been rendered inedibable. Raw bacon, disgusting homefries bathing in too much paprika and slow inattentive service.
