I would go again if a friend asked me but other than that I wouldn't. Personally I didn't enjoy the food and I have been there about 5 times each time decent but not the greatest. The service has mostly been good however certain individuals in the restaurant are not remaining professional with their job and I find it extremely inappropriate.
This is one of the most consistently good restaurants in the area. The owners take great pride in excellent ingredients. Their amazing greek salad benefits from a special olive oil imported from Greece. There is a variety of choices, from wings to ribs to souvlaki and lots of other delicious meals. The grilled veggies are amazing. The staff is friendly and welcoming and soon you are a regular. You won't go wrong dropping in for a meal here.
Went as part of a large group of around 20. Was seated in the back room. Setting was fairly intimate. Servicewas decent considering the size of the party and they dealt with complaints from others in the party well.
While the size of the servings were more than generous, the quality lacked a little. The ribs weren't very tender, and the veggies were under-done and cold. The Caesar was was pretty good, but it was quite steep as an upgrade ($3.95 extra). No one else in the party had any glowing endorsements of the food, but no one refused to eat it either.
It was my first encounter there, so I may try again in a smaller group in the future.
We were regulars at tommys until last monday when we experienced the worst service we have ever had. We were privy to a waitresses flirting and throwing herself at patrons, even giving her phone number out. It was highly innapropriate and very uncomfortable for guests in the establishment at the same time. I would expect this kind of behavior at a gentlemans club, but not at place that civilized people gather to eat! When I called to complain about this unprofessional and business ruining experience I got a rude and arrogant owner on the phone. We will never be back and we, as very prominent citizens in this town will be telling everyone we know about this experience with the desperate waitress and the phone call.
Note to Tommy D's : Get rid of the staff that is making your establishment look cheap and unsavoury and treat your customers with respect. We pay your bills!!! In a small town, you treat one couple badly, they tell 10. Doors closing is imminent continuing in this fashion.
I have eaten here a few times...and the food was always very good and huge portions...however I ate there in November and I was VERY disapponted. Our waitress was the WORST waitress I have ever had. I had made reservations for 4 but another friend decided to come at last minute. When I came in and gave her my name she looked at me shocked and very rudely said "next time you NEED to call or we may not have room for you" With an extremely annoyed look on her face she took us to our table (I was very tempted to walk out right away) When we went to our table there were to other tables filled in the room...and she had made such a big deal about us bringing an extra person when there was hardly anyone else there? I have never been treated that way in a restaurant EVER. and it usually does not take much too please me...the food was pretty good however. Rest assured the waitress did not get a tip!!!
Well I have read the reviews and at least 2 of them leave me shaking my head. My husband and I eat at Tommy D's often, price is great, food is wonderful, lots of it, and good fair prices.
The staff have always been fun and good at what they do. The odd day one might be off, but geesh so am I sometimes. THE rule of thumb is good service 99.,9% of the time.
The washroom are clean and decorated nicely. We have had to move in that we reitred nd have been changing our live styles and have been eating out a good bit. For us Tommy D's is the next place to home. Keep up the good work.
Let's start with the sign outside proclaiming this place to be a 'Steakhouse'. What a joke! The menu had two steak choices at a premium price. We ordered the Striploin, both medium. I chose fries for the side and my husband ordered mashed potatoes. We opted to have our salad changed to a Caesar at an unbelievable $3.49 upcharge!! When I'm charged that much extra, I expect the salad to be that much better, but it wasn't. It was barely room temperature, hardly any bacon, hardly any croutons and it wasn't tossed well. Some of the lettuce had dressing (and glops of it) and some didn't.
We ordered a small order of Garlic Bread and received and were charged for a large order. The waitress should probably choose another line of work because she didn't even know the correct size of the steaks we ordered. We were never asked if we wanted another drink either and the glasses of water she brought to the table were set on the edge of the table and the ice melted within a couple of minutes.
So the meal arrives early(we hadn't even been given a chance to have our salads) and we're looking forward to enjoying a gorgeous steak dinner. We're in a 'steakhouse' so I'm sure the steaks will redeem the lackluster, overpriced appetizers. My steak was cooked nicely, but full of grissle and my husbands steak is medium at one end and extremely rare at the other end. The fries I ordered were inedible! They tasted of 3 year old oil that has had everything from seafood cooked in it to God knows what else. Absolutely disgusting. The rice was dry with no flavour and the vegetables consisted of unseasoned frozen peas and baby carrots. The mushrooms that were included with the meal were nicely cooked, but a very small portion. My husbands mashed potatoes were dry and he didn't bother finishing anything on his plate. This is a guy that always finishes everything on his plate and for the first time, he left a large amount of food because of how awful it was.
The server didn't bother to check on us until we were almost finished what we could swallow. At that point in the night, we were so disappointed and disgusted with the meal that we just asked for the bill, paid and left.
Bottom line...don't eat here unless you want to pay too much for diner food masquerading as 'steakhouse' food and not feel very well the next day.
We were very hungry and were very happy with our full plates of food! The steak was done perfectly and the fries were crispy. The bill was reasonable as well. A+ meal.
At first, things were good. I recieved my food and it was somewhat tastey. However, after I began to eat I noticed a HUGE BLACK HAIR in my food!!!! It was so disgusting and I completely lost my appetite. I wanted to see if the waitress would ask me if there was anything wrong with my food since I did not even eat two bites from it and she didn't. I will NEVER go back again!!!
