A quiet local restaurant with home cooking

We ended up at this restaurant at the advice of the resort we were staying at. There were several items on the menu we were interested in trying. At the advice of our server, we settled on the Western sandwich with a side order of home fries and Jack Daniel beans. I can definitely see why the Western is considered one of their best sellers. Despite the fact that we were sharing everything, there was more than enough for both of us. The atmosphere is definitely cozy, despite being the off season and late in the afternoon. I unfortunately did not get to try anything with their maple BBQ sauce however the homemade beans had an excellent flavour. They were a little firmer then I like, however my understanding of cooking beans is that this is a personal preference rather than being undercooked. They also have several different homemade baked goods. The chocolate cream cake was something new they were doing, and it was EXTREMELY good, so we would recommend the deserts. I believe they are made offsite and brought in fresh daily by another local entrepreneur / bakery. During non-peak season they only do breakfast and lunch with no dinner menu. There is a large patio that would be lovely to sit out on in the summer months but it is right on the highway so not much of a view. There is also a small shop attached for purchasing small souvenirs. There is free Wi-Fi although I did not take the chance to use it, and they do have two local beers on tap. Service was first rate.
