I ordered online, got the confirmation number and went over to pick up food in the allotted time. When I got there, there was no record of ever having ordered. I showed the girl on the counter the confirmation email, she looked at me blankly and said: The owner has the phone with the email and password, so we don't ever get the orders unless he's here. Then she offered to make the order but would take another 25 minutes, which I'd already waited in the first place. Lost customer. Terrible.
Had lunch here once and swore it was the best sushi I'd ever had in Ottawa. Ate here a week later and it was good but not great. I admit though that I am a sushi novice. The fish tank was very entertaining to the two young in our party (both under 5 years old) . They were very considerate of the kids here, and accommodating, considering it is not an atmosphere I'd normally take kids to for dinner.

Major Consistency Issues. I've eaten here a few times since it opened just over a year ago ... and maybe they're still 'finding' themselves, but as a customer it's frustrating. The sushi is fantastic one day then poorly made with tonnes of rice the next. While I've had great service there, it seems staff changes often so they don't know much about the menu. Warning ... they have a spicyness scale for the 'from the wok' items and even medium is quite spicy. As another reviewer noted, the owner is creepy when he's around.

Excellent dishes "From the Wok". My wife and I have been here a few times and each time the food has been excellent.
The Tom Yum Goong soup is very flavourful and an excellent start to your dining experience. If you do decide to choose something "From the Wok", you can't go wrong with any of the options.
I think this place is one of Kanata's hidden gems!
