So today I called and ordered 2 Cantonese chow Ming ( first time ordering from there) I asked for shrimp only because I am Muslim and can only eat halal meat and seafood . When I asked the woman for shrimp only she stated " u don't even want chicken or pork?" I said no because I can only eat shrimp she said u will barely have any i asked how many do they usually put ? She said I don't know maybe 6. I said so I won't be grtting a few extra for not getting pork and chicken in my chow Ming ? She said maybe 2 I said ok.. My husband picked up the food he asked them for hot sauce she said it will cost $1.25 for it !!! Seriously the whole bottle is $3 ... After eating a bit more than half of mine .. I look at my fork and see meat .. I smell it does not smell like chicken or beef and looks redish my conclusion its pork !! I freak out and throw my food in the garbage I call the place and the woman asks me to bring it back .. R u kidding ?? I said I don't want anything . She said maybe by accident .. I said so it's my fault ?? My husband stopped eating his too . I don't know if I ate more and didn't notice it .. The woman didn't apolagize didn't offer a refund .. Said thank u and shut the phone .. I am so mad . Because of this experience we will never eat Chinese anymore !!!!
I like this place! Service is friendly, super fast and they remember you when you come back. Atmosphere reminds me of the regal beagle from three's company from the early 80s but is cozy. They use all white chicken meat! No sketchy meat cuts and food is always really really fast. This is very tasty Canadian Chinese food....nothing exotic or authentically Chinese here. The basics are very good and fresh every time like chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken balls and chop Sue....yum! Price is comparitively reasonable. I am def going back.
Small buffet, but good. One bad meal in the last couple of years, otherwise everything is pretty tasty.
Servide is pretty good, they are usually quick at clearing your table. Nobody rushes you out, you have all the time in the world.

Ok, we called ahead and were told that they would keep the buffet open for us even though they were about to close it for the night. Overall the food had very little taste. I've frequented another small Chinese buffet (family owned) for about 20 years now and even though the size of the buffe itself isn't much bigger than this one, the food and service far exceed this place.

I will not recommend very limited selections for the buffet, there was a total of 6-8 items, dried up chicken wings, fried frice, fried noodle, burnt up egg roll, tough chicken ball, but the general tso chicken??? was not bad, there was no dessert.
The staff are very polite, very personable. Delivery was extremely fast! Although I am in Kanata, but still. The food however, the chicken fried rice was burnt, chicken balls were a little dry BUT the cantonese chow mein was absolutely deliscious.

I have been going to the Chinese Food restaurant for almost 24 years now. I have never had any bad food at this restaurant. Yes, I agree that service could be more friendlier; but, I find service everywhere this days pretty much is inferior to that in the past. It's great food!

I have been coming to the Maple Court Rest. with my friends in the "Train Club" for the better part of 16 years and have enjoyed the food and kindness that we are always afforded there.Do I need to say more ,I think not!
Typical Canadian style Chinese food. Soup and tea included in buffet. Dishes are not labelled: fried rice, singapore noodles, vegetable stir fry, chicken balls, spare ribs, and unidentified chicken? or beef? or pork? dishes, meat egg rolls. The chocolate brownies were good. Servers in tuxedos and 1970's decor is a blast from the past. Friendly staff give prompt service.

The buffet was inadequate with only 8-10 dishes presented. Other restaurants have 30-40 on average. The service was fine and I paid the bill to the cashier, and was about to leave a tip at the table. We were still sitting at our table until the extremely rude waiter/manager/owner came over and said to my 30-year-old daughter " The tip is NOT included in the price of the meal !!"
We will never return to that restaurant.
Was told by colleagues that this was the best chinese food around. Chinese is a favourite of mine but this place didn't live up to the raves.
Just all around not good. Not good service. Not good food. Not good value for the buck.
Certainly wouldn't recommend it.
