Food quality was so so. Service was nearly none existent. We were ignore during an hour+ visit and didn't receive half the food ordered. We had to ask 3 times just to get wasabi. Wasabi was needed to hide the taste of some of the food. Needless to say... last time here.

The lunch special (bento) is perfect for both food and price. Service is fast and efficient. The special include a delicious soup, suchi, meat and rice. My preferred place for a lunch in Kanata

Was so good the first time I went back three days...
Was so good the first time I went back three days later to introduce someone else to this hidden jem. The bento box lunches($8-11) are fresh, filing and have good variety and include soup, seaweed salad and spring rolls. Nice presentation and atmosphere, did have to go to the counter to pay the second time-they were very busy so no big deal. The rolls are tight and not too big-no gagging. The menu explains which have no raw fish and are vegetarian which is big help if you have inexperienced sushi goers in your party. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked good. Will be making this a regular spot

Best sushi in Ottawa since it opened.
My friends and I have been eating here since it opened. At one time we were there once a week easily. The sushi here is tightly packed, fresh and delicious. I have eaten everywhere else in Ottawa and have not had better. Be aware, the place gets busy these days. Go early. They do take out too.

Best sushi I've ever had!
As some of the other reviewers said, the service was below par. Inattentive, basically. We sat and waited for our cheque for ages after finishing, and no one came by to ask if we wanted anything else, another drink or even if we simply wanted the bill! We had to stand up and announce that we wanted to pay before they attended to us. With regards to the food, however, it was outstanding. The Red Dragon Roll was de-lish!, the tempura tasty, and the lunch special was such good value, my companion took half of it home for dinner. Excellent quality food and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back.

I could eat here everyday,.. but I'll settle for 2x a month.
We eat here 2-3 times a month. Quality product and freshness. Try something new each time. Great selection, friendly service, great value . Kid friendly too. Best enjoyed when you're not in a rush.

I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this restaurant - the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful and the sushi was fantastic! It was a refreshing change to enjoy a great meal in a non-stuffy atmosphere with such friendly staff. Two thumbs up!

We've been eating regularly at Sushi Kanata since it opened. It is excellent. Best Sushi I've tasted in a long time. Extremely fresh. The service can be questionable from time to time. Some times we've gone in and they are extremely attentive. Other times, not so much. But the food is worth it.
