My husband and I are foodies and we love it here!!! We have been maybe a half dozen times and we have to drive a little ways to get here but we are never disappointed. The service as I have been told before through word of mouth, can always use a bit of tweaking but we keep coming back here so it cannot be that bad. We arrived and normally there is no one waiting at the hostess stand. Be prepared to wait a moment or 2. We were greeted promptly tonight however, and got a nice roomy table close to the window. There was a large party going on this evening so the staff were kept hopping. We ordered drinks and the soup of the day - we enjoyed every last bite (potato/bacon). My husband loved his German draught beer and I adored a new wine for me, a Hob Nob. I highly recommend this. The server as mentioned was busy and did her best to cater to us and everyone else in the place. We did have to ask for bread though which came later, much later as well as a steak knife and pepper had to be requested. As for meals, I was craving the Chicken Alfredo and I was so satisfied! I had half to take home with me too! The chicken was so tender, it was fall apart tender. The sauce was well prepared, nicely seasoned, the pasta well cooked and the mushrooms to die for. The brocolli was yummy too. My husband treated himself and got the ribeye steak - he gave it a 10. Deelish. The meat was melt in your mouth and the potatoes! MMM... The sauce was the best thing of all though, the jus. Homemade. the only thing is that it would have been nice to have some green on the plate, some type of veg. We could not order dessert, we were so full. Bonus - we got to meet the head chef/owner and he could not have been nicer. We left happy and with cash still in our pockets, the place is reasonable and not a money grabber. We will be back. Typically we would not call fine dining sitting at a truck stop/hotel but once inside you would never know it! A must try!

Well.. maybe I spoke too soon

So I have reviewed Pasto's Grill before, back in 2008. Yesterday we visited for my birthday..... We entered the restaurant and stood there for five minutes or so, with servers and people working there, walking by us. Because we look like a younger couple (26, 27 years), I feel we were ignored, but I could be wrong, but that's what I felt while standing there. We were finally seated in a spot that was kinda out in the open at a big 4 seated table, there were only 2 of us. But whatever. Our server seemed to be nice at the start, but when we didn't order any wine, I think she was mad because she knew her tip wasn't going to be enormous. We were not served any of their home made bread from the start. We ordered garlic bread and bruschetta and two iced teas. Once that came, the bread was not garlic tasting at all. Finally, she took our order, I had the seafood linguini and my husband had the sausage cabernet. It was ok, my husband thought that that his felt like it was re-heated. And my sea food linguini was not even tossed as there were clumps of the clams in the bottom of my dish.... We asked for a loaf of their bread, and she brought it over finally..... I found it strange that there were multiple people were wandering behind the counter and back into the area where they cook food, and also the chef was coming out and sitting at a table with his laptop? I guess these people were friends of the chef? I hope that the food is actually prepared fresh, with fresh ingredients if he has time to sit at a table for the duration of our dinner showing pictures on a lap top??? Our Caesar salad was not fresh, the lettuce was turning the brownish/purple, so we didn't even eat half of it, there was BARELY any salad dressing.. this whole visit was just a big dissapointment.. probably won't be going back...

Very tasty

Having lived in St. Thomas for more then 15 years, I have never eaten here, I don't even know when it became Pasto's but it is a hidden gem for fine dinning. It's so close to town, only a 10 minute drive if that for me, the ambience is good, however I found it hard to hear sometimes because the music was so loud.... but other then that the ambience was good. The waitress was very nice... The food was very tasty, I was a bit disappointed with the stuffed mushrooms, as they were just small mushrooms and there were only 4.... I had the seafood pasta, it had huge shrimp, scallops and clams.. it was very good and it was in a lobster sauce.. very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will definately go back there when I feel like a night out!!!!!!!

The italian dishes are well presented and extremely tasty. The nocci was delicious with the blush cream sauce. Best I've had outside of Nonna's (italian for grandma). I have eaten there several times and each time I am inpressed with the quality of food at a "truck stop". It is fine dining in a most unusaul location. Hope and John have greatly improved on the donut shop that used to be in that location. Kudos

The chicken salad sandwich had too much mayo. The chicken sub was not grilled and had no bacon or cheese on it. It was bland. We have eaten here in the past and we ate pizza. I do not think you can go wrong with the pizza.
