i am back from ilderton to watch the hobbit again but this time we went to cherryhill mall for some food and you food is what we got juicy chicken and ribs fresh salad and of course beer to wash it down and lots of it we had a blast. Cherry hill is small the hamilton rd but the good is just as great.
well we did take the eel electric guy's word for it but then again we are hobbits we don't take anybody's word for it we just go see it and so should you.
i am going back to the shire with my fellow hobbits but we will be back.
It's been a while since the last time i was here at the pigs restaurant. I just had to come in again and i tell you it was great the food as good as it was before and my friends and I had a blast everything was great.
my friends and I drive from Ilderton to watch the Hobbit and i tell you as good as the movie was the king of the pigs restaurant's food was alot better. ood job boy we will be back soon.
My Wife and I current this restaurant quite often,
I will not eat chicken any where else.
It is simple food but the flavor is unbelievable

One of the best BBQ flavours I've ever tasted, but unfortunately the chicken is consistently overcooked and extermely dry dry dry.
I've been there several times, and at the beginning I thought i was great but last few times the chicken was almost unedible. I don't think chicken is that hard to BBQ.
Don't take my word for it, go spend $20 and try it out your self.
Service, not great, the people there seem very impersonal and lack personality.
We made the mistake of sitting at the bar for our meal because the owner tried to have us sit with another couple. The tables are way to tight to sit with strangers. We were ignored and treated as an inconvienence. There were people picking up take out and the owner had interac problems. People waited while food got cold. These people were treated badly. A lady asked about the $2 she had to pay for the cash machine she was directed to across the street and the owner shrugged and said "its not my fault". Sure. It wasnt the owners fault but the lady was not only delayed while her food sat on the counter he never provided any appologies at all. Service 101 may be needed. Two other waiting customers were angry and waiting also.
We got our food and that was the last we heard from the guy.

I have eaten here several times and yes, the chicken (actually, their sauce) is good. Usually you get some kid as your waiter and they confuse easily, aren't very friendly - but I always thought they were employing their own kids or friends/family, so never really minded. Once while dining in, a friend grabbed a piece of bread out of the basket only to clearly see that it had already been bitten into and 'recycled' back into the bread basket. Even that didn't deter us, we figured it was some type of simple oversight and just decided to avoid the bread after that. We really just wanted to support a small local business. But this past weekend, I called in an order for pick up, set the time with the person on the phone and arrived on time to pick it up. I walked into the restaurant and stood right at the bar for nearly 10 minutes and not one of the three people behind the bar would acknowledge me. Not once did they even look at me. A man came and sat in the stool in front of me and they happily greeted him by name. Finally I decided to take matters into my own hands and managed to ask one of the guys about my order and when it would be ready. He took my name, went into the kitchen and came back out several times, never answered my question nor did he say anything else to me, simply walked right past me like I was invisible just as all three had been doing since I arrived. Absolutely deplorable to not acknowledge a customer when they enter your establishment, and then not even after 10 minutes of them standing right in front of you?? And then, when they request quite politely to know when the order will be ready (since it was by then over 10 minutes past the set pick up time), to still ignore them? I walked out of that restaurant and I can honestly say I will never go back. Horrible service like that is never excusable, I don't know why I tolerated it so long in the first place.
I was pleasantly suprised at the hussle and bussle of this restaurant, it was alive with so many people, it was crowed but lovely and I would have stood all night and eat standing up that's how good the food was. The restaurant is being upgraded to manage the full load of customers that come in herds to eat their chicken and ribs! the chicken was suculant and juicy, The babyback ribs are to die for. I will be ordering some more of their fantastic food today for dinner! did I mention the wine!? absolutely delishious portuguese wine
Tried the chicken and pork cutlets with rice pilaf.
It was towards closing ,the chicken was around for a while and was dried out, still flavoured well. The pork cutlets were alright, full flavoured but a bit overcooked, rice was good.
The decor is simple and overall suits well, clean and to the point.
I will try it again when there is a better chance of chicken fresh off the roaster.
Fantastic meal of juicy, tender, and tasty roast chicken! We all loved it. The atmosphere is noisy and lots of Portugese diners here which just adds to the authentic experience. The service was excellent, our waitress was very sweet. The only complaint I have is that there are no menus so we were a little lost as to what to order. Although the sauce was amazing, it is half chicken grease, so beware if you suffer heartburn or watching chloresterol/calories! I would go back in a flash! A jem of a find.
Love the food, people don't know what they are missing when they don't cook with spicies. The chicken is "the best" you'll ever try. We're going to make this a weekly visit.

I have lunch here with friends several times a year and I have to say that the bbq chicken is the best I've ever tasted.
It is a bit of a drive for us as we live on the other side of the city, but definitey worth it !!!

i must say this was the worst resturant to open the owners have no respect for the customers,they are rude,ignorant and if you like preheated food i guess that would be this one . i would never put foot in there again and for everyone else i would do the same this place should be shut down close the doors for good

Shockingly bad, rude service - went there with my two kids (very well behaved under 5's) and husband, plus I speak Portuguese (so they can't say we couldn't communicate with them!). They tried to seat us right near the washrooms, though the place was more than half empty. Ordered the chicken and sea bass, and half an hour later, we were still waiting for even the complimentary bread to arrive. Other guests had arrived by then, and had bread and olives provided - we had to ask twice for ours (don't understand that as all they had to do was empty half a tin of olives into a bowl - not exactly the gourmet, or even tasty, variety). Half an hour later, other tables that arrived after us were eating their meals and we still didn't have any dinner. Outrageous to wait over an hour for food to arrive, considering we also had to feed hungry children. So, we paid for our drinks and got up and left. Still wondering why they treated us that way...

I found this place years ago when a friend and I stopped in for espresso and ended up having a late lunch. Their churrasco (the chicken)is delicious, but I really enjoy the febras grelhadas (pork cutlets). I find the salad too expensive for what you get, but everything else is great- DO boogie with the molho de piripiri (hot sauce) it's amazing. Anyone I have ever taken adores the food and the quaint Portuguese village atmosphere :)
A family member suggested we try the food, so we gave it a try and were glad that we did. I've had the chicken and steak here and both are excellent. The portions are pretty impressive so you will never go home hungry or dissatisfied. Great little neighborhood find. Everyone we've taken since is always please.
We as a company often have lunch at the resturant and we love it ..Fridays is real fun !! bcoz we go to the resturant ..I also plan to take few friends who had never been there this Friday ..that means I love it and will like that my friends love it too so we can all enjoy the chicken there ..MUST GO PLACE ..they should definatky change thier decor and make more space ...
NO chicken can beat this. You could suck the bones for a week and they'd still taste good!
The rice is often overly soggy and the salad is VERY plain but the olives, Portuguese rolls and fantastic piripiri sauce more than make up for that.
Not thrilled that we are charged per cup for coffee.
