This is the best dance studio in London! This is our 10th year there. It took us some time to find a school that offers truly professional approach to teaching. It is not a factory school. Every student gets personal attention and support. This is the only school in London that we were able to find that pays very close attention to technique which is paramount to the future of any developing dancer. Our daughter moved to this studio a few years ago. We love it here. Ms. Carter and the other teachers are wonderful. They really pay attention to each student and we have been impressed because students are extremely well prepared for performances, yet there is also joy and a love for dance apparent in the kids. This is the type of teaching we have been looking for in a studio. If you want quality, artistry, and the love of dance instilled into your child, this the place for you. The real thing!
We had a very poor impression of this lady, Ms. Carter and her sister-in-law, Ms. Penny screaming on parents and kids in front of all other kids and their families. Never apologies and only arrogance. Harassment, bullying and abuse should be zero tolerated in any school and she just encourages it by being a role model at it.
True quality of teaching and sincere care for the well-being of young dancers is what sets this reputable studio apart. Victoria Carter is an internationally known instructor and several of her students have gone on to dance professionally at the highest level. This being said, she also has, first and foremost, the health and happiness of the students as priority. The studio is performance-focused and does not compete. The environment exudes love of dance, movement and artistic expression.
My kids have been dancing since three years ago in Victoria's dance school and we are very pleased with the excellence of the training offered to kids, and the consideration and sensitivity towards children needs (particularly boys) and towards parents requests.
I was looking for a ballet school offering the Vaganova method, the Russian style in London Ontario. I am a big fan of Evelyn Hart and I attended her last performance at the Grand Theatre many years ago, here in London. Before registering my kids to a dance school, I also attended several dance schools recitals in town. Even if all the schools were fantastic at their shows, I was touched by the level of expression and emotion in the port-des-bras of the ballet students from Victoria Carter. I was also pleased to see the clean work in their ballet technique and the age-appropriate wardrobe used. Extremely tasteful productions, elegance and a deep sense of artistry. I was also looking for a studio that has no competitive dance but high quality production ensembles. Discussing my parent views of the dance training with Victoria Carter, I was pleased to find a high resonance of what I wished to offer to my children. Finally, and most important, the two studios floors have the same level of "softness", floating wood covered by linoleum. This was very critical to me, as I visited studios with the level of hardness, wood on cement, and difference in bouncing feeling between the studios in the same school are undermined by the instructors and is the grounds for major injuries in our kids dancing many hours per week. Very pleased to have Victoria's long experience and professional training (she is graduate from the National Ballet of Canada) in London! Thank you!
The Victoria Carter London Dance Centre is an excellent school for girls and boys interested in dance, regardless of their skill level. They develop highly technical skills from positive and encouraging teachers. Kids learn to dance beautifully in a noncompetitive and supportive environment that promotes healthy living and a positive body image. They learn to be disciplined and to excel in dance, while at the same time having fun and acquiring a sense of achievement. Highly recommended for professionals and amateurs alike.

Our daughters have been students at the Victoria Carter London Dance Centre since they were very young. We chose the school because of its reputation and have not been disappointed. Ms. Carter truly gets to know each child as an individual. She has a way of keeping class work fun and engaging and the from the very beginning the children learn dance terminology along with steps that are the foundation of ballet (and other forms of dance). My girls have always looked forward to dance class and love being at the studio. Over the years they have expanded from a weekly introductory ballet class to taking classes in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, gymnastics and modern. Every step of the way they have been challenged to their individual abilities by highly qualified instructors.
Another reason we chose this school was the lack of competition. While the school offers children the opportunity to participate in exams to obtain outside feedback on their performance and technique, there are no outside competitions. This was important to us as we wanted our children to learn to love the art of dance without layering on competition.
From the preschooler taking their first dance class to the pre-professional preparing for a career in dance, this is the school for you!
My daughters have danced at the Victoria Carter dance centre for the past 7 years. It has been a wonderful experience for both of them. The dance instruction is extremely high quality and my girls have thrived at this school. The performances are a wonderful opportunity for the dancers to showcase their love of dance. I would recommend this dance school to anyone who wants to nurture a true love of dance in their child.
