Frankies to me means memories.. I used to go here all the time with my family when anyone had a birthday. Even held my own bday here with friends a few years ago. It's just so easy and there is something for everyone to eat. I think that's the reason each time I come, I hear the "Frankie birthday song" play every 5 minutes. If you like non-authentic Italian all you can eat feasts, then there is nothing better or similar to Frankies. Good variety of food and lots of it.

Good food!

My wife and I frequent this place, as we often have to travel for my kids sports. We all leave happy and full… Although some days the service could be a touch faster, but I think that is just because they get busy!

Been there twice with the grand kids and both times found it quite enjoyable. The food seemed very fresh and lot's of selection. The kids loved it and want to go back again. Went there many years ago and at the time found the food to be not very good this time I must say I really enjoyed it. Great deal for the price

Great new Restaurant in Markham

Smash has a great menu and great atmosphere for lunch and dinner and weekend brunches. We have been a few times now and recommend it as great choice in the Markham area. We particularly like the patio and the availability of the private rooms.

Fun Times with Frankie!

When you're hungry for Italian, Frankie's is the place to be. I went for lunch with colleagues and we were filled to the gills. The meat was plentiful, the pastas were divine! All in an upbeat atmosphere.

IVE HAD BETTER

This place is good for a special occasion or a large party. Its not the best food in the world but you shouldn't expect that from an all you can eat buffet

Stuff your face

People the food is simply AYCE swill. It's an Italian ponderosa and that is not saying much at all. Just a place to stuff your face with pseudo Italian food

Value for families and lovers of European food

This place has ridiculous portions (that's a good thing)! Ordered the buffer and I was defeated at first sight! Lots of choice. About 3 layers engulfed the plate! Oh and the yummy briskets and gravy...I could only get through the 4 plates! Crispy fries...perfect! Service was incredibly friendly but not eye candy. Bring a family for value food.

Average Buffet

This place is busy! The buffet is typical, lots of selection but just average quality. You'd never believe it was just average by how busy it is though. I've been a couple of time and it's been packed. Service was good. Getting a seat wasn't easy. You'd think it was free!

Buffet Italian Food, non authentic

A great place for birthday parties and corporate events however the food was mediocre. The selection of food was like your typical Itialian favorites (pizza, pasta, breads, etc). Great price for lunch buffets

familiar italian buffet, kids will love it

the "village" setting will be a blast for the kids. the food hasn't changed as long as i've been going (15 years). not 100% authentic italian but still decent comfort food. no a la carte menu here, it's 100% buffet.. great lunch buffet special pricing.

This restaurant is OK; not the greatest, but it passes. I've been to Frankie's in the past, and the atmosphere has changed from when I first visited. The wait time on a Saturday night was about 40-60 minutes for large groups, but because it was only the 2 of us, we were seated within 15 minutes. The food was ok, some good, some not so tasty (dry ribs), but it was always getting replenished which was good to see. Although they say theres plenty of food stations, there's not that big of a selection to choose from. My biggest annoyance during the evening was the LOUD dining area. It was so loud, that my friend and I were pretty much screaming across the table just to hear each other. There were lots of kids crying and running around; it just ruined the whole mood of having an enjoyable dinner. Overall, this is an ok place to dine, if you don't mind the loud environment. It was definately not worth $18.99 per person.

It's not really that bad.

I've been here a few times, and I don't go that often because a pasta buffet with all the starch and carbs and saltiness isn't that healthy :p. However, I like to go here because the taste isn't horrible and sometimes I feel like having pasta and that yummy calamari (my favourite) or the little squares of pizza. There was this one waiter who was really, possibly bordering overly nice, who came to us constantly. We never had to ask for another cup of water or juice or pop, because he was there with his little jug. The dirty plates were always cleared by the time we came back from another round. Its true that the tables feel a little sticky and the floors have this dirty gleam to them, but its nothing really to scare you away. Personally, I haven't experienced any bug problems here, but I guess it does happen everywhere.

Good but ....

I'll admit we were somewhat concerned after reading all of the reviews on this site --- However we decided to try Frankie Tomattos anyway. The glow of the leaning tower outside drew us in I suppose. The buffet is good, but nothing stands out as being overly impressive. There's a bunch of themed 'stations' (seafood, pizza, salad, pasta, etc.) where you get your food. For the most part the food had a mild flavour (things labelled as spicy had no heat whatsoever). Service was decent, however could've been a lot better -- We waited with empty glasses for over 10 minutes before the waitress returned to ask if we'd like another drink. I'd go back based on the cost of the buffet and knowing there's a few items I'd enjoy -- However serious fans of Italian food would be very disappointed.

not one of the cleanest restaurant, but one of the dirties. the salad bar was horrible, once i got to my table and took a first bite there was a DEAD FLY in my salad. once i saw the fly i called the waiter n asked for their manager but it seems like the waiter knew that there was a bug in my food because he asked "why is there is bug in your food" even though i got a free meal it wasn't really worth it. the food wasn't that fresh especially the spaghetti and the lasagna with was dry flavorless and didn't have enough cheese. i had frozen lasagna that taste better, which is pretty sad... also the cook just pick spaghetti off the bar table with his hands and threw it somewhere on the stove. the pots that they were using really need a hard scrub, seeing the pots made me loose my appetite. the ice cream was like milk shakes, one thing that surprised me was that they had ice cream cake, not the best but this time they actually had it and they were pretty quick refilling the dessert bar.
