I Heart Axia

Ok so Sauga is full of great places, and Axia is one of those great places we always meet friends at when we're in the region. The sushi here is quality and consistent. You can tell right away that they use a higher grade of fish than some of the local AYCE (all-you-can-eat) places. The Dragon rolls and spicy rolls are pretty much different than any other place I've been to which keeps me coming back. The wifey doesn't like sushi, so she likes to stick with the Chinese and Thai food which she absolutely loves. The look and feel is nice, sort of like an outdoorsy theme. Service was friendly and fast and the bill is reasonable for a place like this. Anyways, give Axia a try, it's one of those places that'll keep you coming back for more.

Atmosphere Is Great, Food Not Bad

I have to be honest, upon walking into this restaurant, it definitely is quite a sight. The flooring looks like a patio, feels like you are sitting outside. The decor is very well done, feels like it is authentic. They also have private rooms that are covered with a decorative sheet, very impressive! We had to wait a while to get our menus and our food. The service wasn't that great, the servers weren't very attentive and tried to rush us out. The food was adequate, nothing to rave about, I've had better elsewhere. It was also quite pricey, I wouldn't go back only because of the service and the food, the atmosphere alone won't bring me back there.

My Boyfriend and I have dined at Axia numerous times over the last 2 years. We have decided that Axia is our favourite restaurant. The food is superb, the staff is awesome and the atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable. The menu is extensive and always delicious! We have often entertained friends there as well and they in turn have raved about Axia!

Great Food Great Price

I had to meet a client for lunch in the Erin Mills area and a friend suggested Axia Restaurant. It turned out to be a great choice. Food was great, price was even better. Would definitely go again!

What the point of making reservation??This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but I don’t think I will go back again. I reserved a table on Valentine’s Day, but I had to wait 30 minutes. Walk in customer got their table the same time as us. What the point of making reservation?? The manager seems cannot recognize I’m their loyalty customer. Honestly I don’t know what happen to this place now. Everything was so SLOW, my food came after, my friends had already finished their meal. I felt so embarrass because I’m the one who suggest my new friends to Axia. They never came here before. We been there for so many times and we used to have the complete opposite experience. I think they should hire someone to improve their management skills

Excellent food, awesome selection and great service. I've been to Axia a few times and I still have trouble deciding what i want to get for the next time. The selection is simply amazing. They have Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Korean, so it works well since i love all 4 and it gives me the opportunity to mix an match. I ordered a tofu dish this time around on the special menu, and spent an extra 10 bucks on the Axia sushi roll, which is their specialty roll. I had ok service last time from the wait staff, but this time around the service was much better. I think they changed managers or something, because this guy came around to ask how the food was and he was very friendly. Will definitely come back to check out the rest of the menu

Amazing selection of asian food! They seem to have it all and some exciting dishes too. I get worried when I see really big menus because I wonder how it's possible to keep all the items fresh, but it was tasty. I went for dinner about a month ago with a friend and shared a few dishes. The vegetable tempura was very tasty and I really enjoyed the spider rolls. To be fair, I am not an expert on rolls and this was the firs time I tried these but I still think they were delicious. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice. I didn't really like the seating -- the seats were very low but the server was helpful and brought me some extra cushions. I would be happy to go here agian and try some of the other dishes on the menu.

I prefer the Axia Restaurant at Pacific Mall. The food was good but I was expecting it to be much better. I need to find a great Korean BBQ restaurant.

Great food, at a good price. We booked a party for seven people to celebrate a birthday and everyone walked away impressed. My wife is a finicky eater and usually has trouble finding menus she agrees with, my best friend has allergies to just about everything, his wife is a vegetarian and another couple who are very particular about where and what they eat. Axia was a first in that everyone was able to meet their needs and the menu offered diversity that allowed everyone to find that perfect meal. Being Japanese, I'm a harsh critic of some of the sushi places popping up these days. They seem to focus more on quantity and less on quality. What happened to the tradition? Axia had nicely presented sushi which was fresh and made by a real sushi chef. Refreshing. Pricing was good in this category. My wife opted for Thai. She ordered a Thai Red Chicken Curry and some spring rolls and said it made her a newfound fan of curry (which I can't remember her liking before). I sampled this, a nice smooth taste, very different from other Thai Currys I've had. The rest of the party had nothing but great things to say about their meals. This is quite rare with this group so it's a no brainer that we'll be back here for our next meeting. The restrooms were clean, the overall design had a distinct outdoor look and feel. Sort of like sitting outside somewhere on the continent of Asia. We were expecting the pricing to be much more expensive but was a fit for what I might describe as value dining considering they have tons of specials going on. Service was ok, nothing special but not bad. We really didn't expect immaculate service based on the menu pricing. Server forgot our water but was apologetic and sincere so no biggie. They had a nice selection of Sake! Also some nice beers from Japan and China that you don't come across. I grabbed a Kirin and we all shared a bottle of the Sho Chiku Bai bamboo filtered warmed sake (quite nice) which was on special. So as a harsh team of critics, I would say Axia passed the test and can be recommended as a unique place that you should definitely try at some point if you live nearby. Hopefully this review was of help to you. - Jason Okamoto

When i first enter the restaurant i waited 30 minute for a table for five. The funny thing was there were empty table ! not one but about four table available . The manager or owner there did not seem to know what he was doing! once we got our table we didn't get our menu until 15 min later. Then we order and it took 30 minute for it to come out! It was the worst experience i ever had in a restaurant. The service was bad and the food wasn't good at all , when it came out it was cold ! i went there twice and both time i had a bad experience.

Amazing selection of Asian cuisine. I stuck to the sushi. They have a great selection of specialty rolls - some were quite innovative. The maki rolls were a good size and the fish was fresh. The decor is interesting so it's a great place to come with a group. Everyone in my group has different tastes so the large menu was a bonus. Service was a bit slow even though the restaurant wasn't busy.

Thier curry's are great. They also have sushi and regular chinese dishes that many would be familiar with. The concept is very unique and I've never seen an asian restaurant that serves multi asian cuisines without it being fusion or buffet. Food is great and real. The atmosphere is really what puts this place above the rest. They have literally captured the ambience of a small asian village complete with trees and rooftops. The decor itself is worth the visit.

I menu has great variety of Asian food. They have Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese food. We ordered Japanese food: sashimi, sushi rolls, teriyaki; and Vietnamese: rare beef pho. The food was very good and was presented so well. My favorite is the sashimi bowl on a bed of rice. We also ordered fish (I forgot what kind of fish) in teriyaki sauce and it was delicious. Their shrimp tempura were crispy and there were more shrimp than the tempura and that is always good. The service was not so good. Many of the servers don't speak much English, he couldn't even pronounce the Japanese dish we were ordering. We also waited a while to be seated. You have to go to the waitresses and ask them to serve you before they even ask if we needed help. But it also depends on who is serving you. One time we had a server who was very helpful and fast. He knew a lot about the food and what's in it. The place looks great from the outside and looks even better inside. The seats were comfortable and elegant looking. The place, however, is a bit small which is why it takes a while to be seated. I love the modern design washrooms and every time I go there it's clean. There is also shopping centers and a mall nearby.

I go to Axia whenever I venture out west, to Mississauga. If it were closer to where I live (North York) I would probably eat there everyday. I love their menu! I want to try everything on it, but I'd have to go there everyday for an entire year (maybe) in order to accomplish this. :p My girlfriends and I are always looking for good restaurants and Axia is one of our favourites. We usually order one dish per person and we share. The food is always delicious (and fast!). The servers are always very attentive and they don't seem to mind that we close the shop from time to time. My personal favourite on the menu is the Thai curry. They have a choice of mild and spicy. Both are tasty, but watch out - mild is spicy! I can't complain about this restaurant. I don't know what some of these people writing nasty reviews expect when dining out. If you're looking for 5 star food and service, be willing to go to a place where you need to shell out 5 star prices.

The outside and decor is well-presented and that's what attracted us to try out this restaurant. Also the reviews were 8 and above. After pre-booking, my wife and I arrived at the front desk, but no-one served us or even took notice that we were waiting. They should have a maitre'd at the front desk to usher the customers to their seats. Eventually we were shown to our seats. The ambience was good with the usual candles but I think the paper tablecloths spoilt the feeling of warmth and sophistication! We also had to wait a while for us to be asked for our drink order, so we decided that when the waitress did take our order, we would order our meal as well because if the service was this slow, we didn't know how long it would take to receive our meal. The restaurant wasn't even busy yet. My cutlery was sticky so I asked the waitress for another set. The food was not as great as I expected it to be.

I've been visiting Axia since it practically opened. The decor is great. The new menus look nice and clean, as opposed to the old huge ones , which I mentioned to the waitress. The food is great every time, though service isn't what it used to be. What brings me back every time is the craving i have for the food, although portion sizes used to be much larger. Pre-vegan, my favourite dishes were the general tao chicken and the sweet and sour chicken balls. Honorable mention goes to the chicken pad thai, and the curry chicken pad thai. Post-vegan leaves me not much choice, other than the veggie pad thai and the curry veggie pad thai, hold the eggs on both! As for drinks, green apple bubble tea with green apple jelly usually does it for me: so good! *The curry pad thai dishes don't appear on the menu so you'll have to ask for a special order.

We all had a wonderful time. Lots of selection, my wife is a picky eater, but she seems to agree with the food here. Not the cheapest place around, but definitely good value for your dollar. Axia - Good food, nice place for a date or event

We had a major birthday party here. 8 people. Everyone was pretty pleased. The decorations and design are great, food was consistent. Something rare in an Asian restaurant: Washrooms were very clean!!! We decided to share several plates instead of ordering individually. Sushi was fresh, sizzling plates were very good. Our waiter was a little new, he forgot a water and an appetizer but was very friendly and apologetic. This is my second visit, my wife and kids also approve.

Axia == An eXperience I Abhored

It's a bad sign when you step into an Asian restaurant and see no Asians eating there. When I took a look at the menu, some of the items in the Chinese section were severely overpriced. You could get the same item in Chinatown for half the price. I figured that if I'm going to eat in a Pan-Asian restaurant, I'll eat something that I rarely get, so I got the Malaysian Chicken Curry. However, with respect to my other friends when they ordered their food, the server had no idea about the elements in the menu. Not only was the server misinformed, the service was unacceptably slow, and it wasn't even a busy night. We had to keep asking just to get a refill on water... about 15 minutes just to get a refill. One of my friends is allergic to wheat and wanted to have something from my girlfriend's sushi plate. My friend inquired about the piece she wanted to the server, if it contained wheat. The server said that he wasn't sure and would inquire. Throughout the whole meal, he forgot to ask, so my friend ended up not taking the item. When we went, the place wasn't even packed so I didn't see what the problem was. Also, their liquor menu is severely disorganized, and do not describe the ingredients of all of their drinks. My girlfriend asked what was in their Cherry Almond Cocktail, and the server had no idea what was in it, but replied that it "was a cocktail". In any case, my girlfriend got some sushi plates. The sushi was terrible. It wasn't prepared properly, and fell apart in her chopsticks as she was eating it. When she ordered tempura rolls, the tempura was cold and soggy, and they put some very weird "special" sauce on it, which ruined the taste all together. As for my Malaysian Curry, it was a bit mild for my taste, but it was good... up until I had to get up this morning. I had severe indigestion, and the curry was most likely the culprit. The curry was the last meal I had before I went to bed. This is the first time that I've had curry and had severe indigestion. The atmosphere was decent, but I didn't like the service. They were non-attentive and took too long to get very simple things. It took them 15 minutes to get our drinks from them, and another 10 minutes to get water. In any case, it is a place I will never visit again. There are many places in Chinatown where you can get better quality food, at a lower price. Axia - Never again.
