We got fried chicken, bbq smoked chicken and bbq smoked ribs. Incredible! The owner is friendly and provides excellent food at a great price. We ate like kings for 30$

A group of us at work (in the airport district) read the Restaurantica reviews on this place, and decided to give it a try during one late evening shift. I placed a large order by phone (8 dinners) and we sent a colleague to pick it up. The food wasn't ready when she arrived - they had apparently been surprised by a large number of otherorders. None-the-less, he whipped up our mass takeout order pretty quickly, our colleague arrived back at the office with containers, and we all assessed the quality.
Basic concensus - it was great. No complaints at all. There were no order mix ups. The jerk chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Rice and hot sauce / plantain / coleslaw / side salads - all fresh and excellent. The price was reasonable. All agreed. We'll definitely go back.
Been twice now, had jerk and sides once and fried/wedges and a sandwich the second.
Chicken is definitely west indian style- so if you are expecting buttermilk basted southern fried stuff you'll be disappointed. Cooked longer and a tad drier than I would prefer, but still nice and tender with good flavor.
Should change the listing though, this is not "American traditional" style food
House made hot sauce is great! Nice fruit notes make it just amazing on everything, pass on the ketchup and stick with the hot sauce.
The chicken crunch sandwich is also a pass - pre-processed patty fried in the same fryer as the fish, it is a bland, mushy object on an otherwise enjoyable roll with fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Hot sauce did help a bit, but considering the care put into the rest of the food, this should be left off the menu.
I read the reviews on here and decided to try the fried chicken. The chicken was old, dry and really hard. Was expecting a better result seeing all the great reviews this place has. The owner was nice and very proud of his restaurant, which was good. Just not what fried chicken is supposed to be. Maybe I'll go back and try the jerk chicken.

The place was really clean and neat, well-lit and bright; I have no idea why someone on here said it was 'greasy'. The service was great too, the owner talked to us and mentioned how he prepares everything fresh; whereas some restaurants would buy their sauces and frozen wedges wholesale etc. You really can taste the freshness! I had the Jerk chicken and my boyfriend had the pulled pork sandwich and we went halfsies.. both excellent! The flavour of the smoky meat is unbeatable. The smell of jerk spice and smoky chicken was on my hands for a long time even after I washed my hands; a pleasant reminder of great and very reasonably priced meal. The potato wedges were hot and tasty, the potato salad was good and homemade. I can't wait to go back and try the BBQ chicken!!
No sure why this got a bad review...oh well everyone is allowed an opinion but think this person was just having a bad day. I go about once a week...best jerk chicken I have ever had.
I also order a pulled pork sandwich occasionaly....the smoke flavour is authentic! I have been to Louisianna and have to say it is as good.
Clean place and owners are very friendly.

First, the place is incredibly clean!! which is very important.......everything is spotless and organized..white counters are white and even the tables are shining.
Food Safety Certificates are proudly hung on the wall...
Now to the food...the portions are large and incredibly priced..
I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and a jerk chicken meal ...with a side gravy and potatoe salad...
The pulled pork was moist..nice flavour....good portion...he put on some of his homemade hot sauce....I didnt find it hot but it tasted good...
I didnt read this on prior reviews ...but the wedges are home made too!!!! OMG..they were sooo good!!!! ....made with a yellow potatoe..instead of the standard flavourless white...and well seasoned...I would actually go back just for the wedges...
The potatoe salad was yummy..you could taste the freshness..and it was creamy without being disgustingly over sauced...
The cole slaw was fresh...very good...made like most West Indians make it ...vinegar.veggies and alittle something...
Jerk Chicken was delicious..ordered a breast portion very smoky flavour..and well trimmed...I (nothing worse than fatty chicken)
The owner was very very nice and warm ...you could tell ..he was very proud of his food...took the time to explain the dishes...
Oh..and the gravy was yummy too.. It definitely deserves a mention
Definitely worth the stop...even if just for the wedges and gravy....!!!!

I decided to try it out.
The food was as good as the National Post said.
The owner is so proud of his food and happy to run through all the menu items....lot's of choices and maybe just to many as I could not decide.
I decided to have the 1/2 jerk chicken with sides.....it was so good! The entense flavours of the jerk was not like anything I have had before and the chicken very moist...even the breast meat....I had the rice and potato salad. Both very good.
I will be back for sure! Will tell all my friends.

Food is amazing! Had a lot of jerk chicken in my life, but this by far was the best. My buddy had the buffalo wings and said they were great. We will be back and highly recomend.

We all had never been to Lykn Chicken before and were refered by a work College who said the food was very good.
He was right! Wish they had beer on tap! Service was friendly and helpful as we did not know what to order, they had so many selections.
We all will return and refer to others.

I have tried jerk all over and this chicken was very moist and spicy, just how I like it. It was smoked in a smoker with the jerk seasoning. Never had chicken like this before. Very good! Will return.

I visted this place because of the reviews on Restaurantica. I have to say it was excellent despite one negative comment. The guy does not know what he is talking about. Oh well can't please everyone. The ribs were very good and loved the Wedges. My friend said the fish was fresh and the best he had and really liked the rice. Will be back! Also will check other reviews on Restaurantica and try some other places.

It was interesting from the outside and finially months of seeing it and going by we decided to go in. The place is very clean and service is very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent! We had so much to choose from on the menu. GREAT FIND! I want to have the Pulled Pork Sandwich next time as someone else was ordering it when we were waiting for our meal and it look and smelled great.
We will be back and will certainly tell all our friends.

The rice was really good and coleslaw amazing. Can't remember when I last enjoyed a meal like that. My buddies also order some cajun fried chicken and jerk chicken. Lots of choices.

We tried them out because of the rating on "My Restaurantica" People really know what they are talking about and know good food when they taste it.
The fish was amazing the salad was so good. I had so much that it gave me a second meal. Would recommend to anyone. The service was helpful and friendly!
The Fish was crispy and cooked fresh! and the salad was really nice with lots of flavor. Really reasonable and will be back again! Definately would reccomend this place.
