Ratings & Reviews - Katsura Japanese Restaurant

How would you rate this business?

When more than the food matters.

Katsura is tucked away in a separate, but connected, building right beside the main building of the Prince Hotel. The food here is very good but only slightly better than the cheaper places in the area. The teppanyaki tables are good. The sushi is fresh. The prices are high and the portions are not particularly large. So why would someone choose this place over its cheaper competitors? It's the decor and the service that makes this place stand out. From the moment you step in out of the snow, you are surrounded by tasteful Japanese decor. In the main dining area, the place is elegant, simple and to the point. The design allows large groups to eat in semi-isolation. This is the restaurant you impress your dining partner, be it a business meeting or a first date.

Best Restaurants for Mother's Day in Toronto

Brunch is a popular choice for Mother’s Day, but what about dinner instead? Katsura is offering two Mother's Day prix fixe menus this holiday Sunday. The main dining prix fixe menu features a main course of gindara (black cod) with shrimp and vegetable tempura, while the teppan menu features sirloin, chicken, black tiger shrimp and teppanyaki-style vegetables. Either way, Mom will be impressed.
