Went in for a couple drinks and tapas with friends. The first thing I noticed was the overpowering smell of old kitchen grease. It was disgusting and it filled the whole place.
We ordered a few plates of tapas and they were all tiny and cold. The prices were way high too for what you get.
We left after only one round of drinks and I could still smell the grease smell on my jacket and clothes the next day.
I found out that Jam is owned by the same people who own Colossus next door. Little surprise seeing as Colossus has gone downhill.
Took 1hr 15 mins for the food to be ready. There was one cook in the kitchen, who did not do a good job. I ordered the red curry chicken which was flavourless and the chicken's exterior was hardened- as if it was sitting out for a while. The $12 tempura appetizer was disgusting. The shrimp tasted so fishy (in a bad way), as if it had not been washed. The shrimp and veggies were just deep fried- they were not even tempura. The rest of the group was not satisfied either, other than two people who ordered the pad thai. By the time the food finally came out we were ready to leave. Refills never happened, there were no apologies when I asked what was going on. We felt neglected. None of the staff looked happy to be there and could care less whether people were satisfied. Awful awful... My poor sister, she chose this place for her birthday.
Went here for a friends birthday and was not disappointed! The martini list is by far the best I have ever seen and the little tappa type appetizers we ordered hit the spot.
The service was slow, but didn't really stick out in my memory. If I am in Oakville again I will definitely revisit this restuarant!
I decided to spend the afternoon in Oakville and have an early dinner at Jam Restaurant. A few friends from TO had recently been there for lunch and raved about the food and atmosphere so I decided to check it out for myself. Upon entering I was greeted by a very friendly server who quickly sat me down and told me about their $5 dollar martini special. I was pleasantly suprised to not only pay less than half the price for a typical martini here in Toronto but to see such variety in their selection for both food and drinks. I ordered the volcano salad to start followed by their spicy tuna roll and pork stir fry. Had I known their portions were so abundant I wouldve stuck with 2 dishes. I have no regrets because all of the above were EXCELLENT! With every bite of the salad came an explosion of tastes- pesto, multicoured tomatoes, goat cheese, avocado etc. THE BEST SALAD EVER! I was given at least 6-8 tuna bites, rolled onto individual spoons on a plate- very unique presentation and taste! Finally my pork stir fry came heaping on a plate. Needless to say I had to take some home but every single plate was delicious! I passed on my compliments to the chef! The decor was very tasteful and the service was superb! The bartender looked like he was having tons of fun mixing up the martinis :) I will definitely be back with friends and will recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing food experience.
There were so many good choices on the menu we had trouble choosing. Every dish that came to the table was delicious!
Our server was attentive even though it was very busy. The atmosphere was lively, great for a Saturday night. Would have liked to have stayed for another martini but it got a bit too loud to continue our conversation when the DJ started. Although the DJ was very good and we enjoyed the music as we finished up our last drink.
Everything was great even the guys in the kitchen seem to have fun.The food was out standing and I love the crazy martini's I would say that this place is my top three and I can't wait to book my staff xmas party here.

I really enjoyed the food presentation was amazing and the taste was great I could tell the server was new but she was always smiling and seem to like where she was. The drinks where really nice and had big flavour we we'll be back as soon as possible.I did read some of the other reviews and I share nothing in common with these people but I hope they asked to speak to a manager or owner because I was tolled that the owner is very good at making your trip there a good one also when you wright a review try to be smart about it don't review like a six year old!!!
I went the other day for a lunch with some friends, the food was horrible, service was horrible and it wasnt even busy there was one waitress and she had no idea what she was doing. She was slow to take out order and make our drinks. I am never going to be returning to Jam.
I went to Jam the other night for fun with some friends, we have never felt so disgusted. We were made to wait at the door for the longest time and no one even acknowledged us, until finally I walked over the one of the girls and said something. We eventually got a table and of course it was busy but not as busy as it has been when Ive gone before. Our food was ok, probably the highlight of the night, but the service and the attitude that the servers gave us was just pathetic. People go there for fun and to enjoy themselves out with friends or family and I just didnt see that happening at all. It was just unbelievable and I will never return to Jam and I will definitely tell my friends and family not to return.
I have never been so disgusted in my life. This place was a nightmare. The waitresses were horrible, bartender was great, he was older but knew exactly what he was doing. Our food was horrible. I think this restaurant should be closed and I dont know why people bother to go there. I will never go there again. And I advise everyone to never go in there either.
I give credit for the martinis and appetizers but the main was weak. Over cooked noodles and missing ingredients as indicated on the menu.
However, dispite the busy crowd, I would probably try this place again and stick to the appetizers. Service messed up but management offered compensation in lieu.
Smoking out front should be banned as significant fumes drifted into resturant to spoil the moment.
had a business lunch here as it was one of the group's favorite luncheon spots in Oakville. I was late and had another meeting so had to order fast. Nothing stood out service wise, but I really enjoyed the food, and can see this being a place I could come every day. Menu has lots of choices so it will be a while before I get bored. Definately worth checking out for yourself.
I really like this restaurant, but what is with the huge white rice timbale. It really is oversized. Give us a few more veggies and cut it down. This is my only compaint, our server, while not especially energetic was quite good.

I really like this place, I like martinis and I like asian food. What I hate are the servers and bartenders. They are all pretty much useless. They all stay huddled in the back of the restaurant beside the computer so it is impossible to flag one down (you will need to flag one down bc they will never come to your table). Once you finally order your drink it takes forever to get to your table. And you can see the bartender chatting away the whole time you are waiting, taking his sweet time to make it. It would be nice if the waitress would notice when you are almost done your drink, and offer to get you another, but this has never happened. So you finish your drink, wait for the waitress, eventually have to get up and find her, order your drink and wait 15 more minutes for it to come. Fun.

We ordered the Pacific Package which covers off a number of the Appetizers/Tapas that JAM offers. The Wild Mushroom Salad was delicious and full of flavour...Shiitake mushrooms were tender. A little disappointing was the Pad Thai - which was a on the salty side and had a strong hoisin flavouring. The Thai Scallops and Shrimp Tempura were a favourite - big and juicy! Service was excellent. We would definitely go back and try out some other appetizers...looking forward to trying the Ahi Tuna!

Jam is an excellent spot for a date, or a drink with girlfriends. The atmosphere is comfortable and chic, yet upscale. Servers are very friendly and helpful, great for recommending the best martini's. Location is convenient, as it is right on Lakeshore in the heart of Downtown Oakville.
Best of all is Martini Monday, only $5 for one of their many delicious drinks.
I strongly recommend Jam for anyone looking for a great place to go.
