My wife and I were craving good pancakes and waffles and thought we would try the new Stoney Creek location today. If you are going to specialize in breakfast you should do breakfast really, really well. Well, the pancakes were OK to good, but the "Belgian" waffles were just terrible. They were heavy, not light, and a firm to hard outer crust. Tasted like they just put pancake batter in the waffle iron. Belgian, or more properly Brussels waffles, should be light, with the eggs whites beaten separately then folded into the batter (this makes them light), and served with whipped cream and fresh fruit, such as strawberries. Instead they came with this tired looking mini-bowl of what looked like canned pineapple and cubed melon. No whipped cream. The side of peameal bacon was fine, but the sausages were quite literally the worst and cheapest I have had in a restaurant, just pork fat and filler. With tea for 2 and taxes, over $31. We did not realize it was a "chain" restaurant. Server was prompt and friendly.
first off i would love to say this place is amazing have been going since it opened and keep going back atleast once a week and gonna keep the servers are amazing very friendly and outgoing its not pricey at all for a matter of a fact its cheaper then most places where can you go and eat for 2 ppl with coffee for 16 bucks you get 2 eggs and yes they are large eggs and either back ham or sausage home fries and yes they are real home fries and toast....i think people should stop just saying the bad you guys went how many months ago 7 when they first opened maybe you should try it again for a matter of a fact the have a deal on weekends the basic is 1.99 where can you go and eat for 1.99 no where and if you people think you can do better try this is a good place and maybe you should just try it again
Checked out the new Sunnyside Grill... Breakfast was okay but for the price of a classic (basic) breakfast I was expecting more. The place is quieter then some of the other breakfast joints in the area. Despite this, some of the servers seemed overwhelmed. Luckily, I had a young man named Brandon who definitely has serving experience he was attentive, very polite and even cute.
Visited the new Stoney Creek location on weekend and was so unimpressed. The waitress was overwhelmed and while taking our order a manager was waiting by our table staring at her because some other table was returning their food. So.... very uncomfortable from the get go. Waited for quite some time for our miniscule porttions of food and waitress had an excuse for everything. I was missing my whip cream for my waffle, so she comes with a can of whip cream and asks where on waffle I want it, really? and a very small portion of fruit topping that was not enough to cover waffle. Potatoes were not good and very small portion. The only good breakfast was my daughters french toast
My eggs were cold and so undercooked that they still had runny clear liquid on them. My toast wasn't even toasted, it was just raw pieces of bread. Dry ham. Puny serving of potatoes. Coffee cup sat empty for a long while only managed to get one refill of my tiny cup, nice bottomless coffee.
I politely asked the server to get me another breakfast cooked properly and waited another 15 minutes to get my food back. By the time my food arrived my party had all finished their meals.
Service was slow and when I told the cashier that I was unhappy with my meal the male owner gave me attitude. This place is a joke.
When we arrived we noticed the dirty window. One of the waitresses was outside smoking in the front of the building. We entered and the cleanliness was questionable. The waitress came back in and started waiting on tables without washing her hands. We decided to leave without ordering anything. I'm surprised that this place is actually in Oakville on Lakeshore ... we would expect a much nicer appearing place without employees outside smoking and then waiting on tables without at least, washing hands.
Painfully slow service, cold Eggs Benedict with slimy, uncooked eggs (I asked for medium) on an untoasted english muffin for 13 bucks. Sent it back and watched in horror as the cook tried to wipe the slime off the eggs with a dirty dish rag. We walked out. Enough said.
Drove in from Burlington hoping for something special after reading the reviews. It was well cooked but nothing I couldn't do at home. I had the eggs florentine and the spinach was fresh and the hollandaise was decent but the potatoes were grainy and not very good. My husband had the classic eggs benedict and he wasn't overly impressed either. Coffee isn't very strong either.
The location is great though and the service was fantastic. Probably wouldn't go back, nothing special.
My Eggs Swiss was very unique - what a great sauce! - delicious! my wife's order was mixed up - how do you confuse sunnyside eggs with scrambled??? Our server, who finally served us, (after a table of 6) apologized and it took the kitchen less than two minutes to replace her eggs - Your husband and wife team in the kitchen are amazing - We watched them - they seem to know exactly what the other one is thinking and doing - We will be back! I will be back for the sauce, my wife for the breakfast and both of us to watch the kitchen cook for us!!!
the food was excellent but the service was very poor - loud mouthed server seemed more interested in taling to her regular (I'm assuming) customer and talking on the phone than serving my guest and myself - will we return - probably not - unfortunately!
I ordered some eggs benny since i heard it's really good here. Well the eggs benny was delicious. The side of potato pieces was horrible and ruined the dish for me. They tasted like freezer burn and cardboard. They left a horrible aftertaste as well. They looked really good, as though they had some kind of seasoning on them, but was sadly disappointed that they were that bland and couldn't even eat them with ketchup. I would suggest asking to sub with another side, but I think it would cost extra. The price was also a bit high for eggs benny and tea when the biggest portion on the plate was the horrible potatos. The service was alright, though they gave me my bill before I had even finished eating, as though rushing me to leave, so I really didn't appreciate that either. I may be back, but not if I have to eat those potatos again.

A friend and I ordered some burgers for takeout. The waitresses initally messed up our order and tacked on some extras, but we were assured it was because of the new staff. I have ordered a few times since and have never had a problem with the food, or service, but I suppose it all depends on who's working. The owners are very nice and strived to ensure I was happy. The food is always ready fast, and the prices are very reasonable.

This is one of the best places for breakfast or lunch in Oakville. The staff are pleasant, the food is good, the restaurant has a good feel to it and it is good value.
Plus, the owners really understand how to run a restaurant. Something that seems to be a hit and miss in the restaurant business.
You won't be disappointed. Many of the customers are frequent repeats, as am I.

We have been to this place several times and are always happy with the food and the service. It really fills a niche in Oakville for a great breakfast place.
This was my first time going to the Sunnyside Grill and to tell you the truth I was very suprised at the great breakfast and the service. I'm sure I will visit again!
