    I honestly tried ...

I honestly tried to give them a chance. Driving to Toronto and passing through Oshawa we were craving indian food. The place seemed decent at first glance. But even the menus are sticky and dirty. Nothing seems fresh and the kitchen looked unsanitary. The restaurant tables were unclean and it looked dingy and runed down. I also got food poisoning when i got home the day after. Overall, Not a pleasant experience.

    Great people, great food.

The people who run this restaurant are always so friendly! To top that off, the food is great. I really enjoy their palak paneer especially. They're also great with accomodating tastes. I like my food spicy, while my other family members are not so keen on it. When I order spice levels all over the map, it's never screwed up. Always perfect for each person. The flavours are great and I always look forward to a treat here when we have the time.

    Great Owners & Great Food

We just love this little hole in the wall on Simcoe. The owner is always so happy to take our order and often rounds the prices down to encourage repeat business. He's a smart guy because we find ourselves getting take-out from the Curry Club at least once a week.

    Simply THE BEST curry ANYWHERE!

I can't believe I'm the first poster for the Curry Club: they've got regulars coming in and out of there every day. Every single person I know in Durham Region who loves curry loves their food. I think my wife and I have been going there for about three years now; usually do take out once a week. Sometimes we'll get a number of dishes and have a feast with our extended family. Everyone loves it. By the way, I only go there for takeout. Yeah, it's in the downtown core of Oshawa (hmmm), and it's easy to miss while driving by, but gosh, is it ever worth it! I found out through word of mouth, and our word now continues that trend. The interior isn't the kind of restaurant that my wife and I would normally eat in: the owners always have their kids there so it's not exactly quiet, but I think it might be typical for this type of restaurant. But again...we get the take out and relax at home and enjoy it there. The owner (nicknamed Bob) and his wife Shelpie (don't know the spelling) are SUPER GRATEFUL and respectful people. We love giving them our business. Then Bob says "Thank you VERY much", he really means it. Of course we thank him even more for being there and providing us with the best curry anywhere. Get the Boohna chicken and butter chicken. Like any curry dish, the longer it's had to simmer the better it will be. You'll know if the curry has the perfect aging by it's unbelieable fully bodied flavour and thick sauce. If you happen to get a dish with a thinner sauce....don't give up...go back and get it again the next time and it'll be fantastic. I only say this because when they get low on a dish, they make more, so it can be a matter of timing. Not that the thinner sauces aren't good: in fact, when we get a dish like that, it resembles dishes in most other curry places. It's good and tasty and the chicken texture is nice. BUT...when you come in and the sauce has that perfect aging...you cannot beat it anywhere. Yup, this place classes as an ethnic hole-in-the-wall kinda place, but experience has taught us that these are the very best places to get authentic and stunning dishes. I'm giving the Curry Club 5 stars in every category: the atmosphere may not be 5 stars, but Bob and Shelpie's kindness and nature make up for the basic visual aesthetics which is a big part of a places atmosphere. The prices are reasonable, dishes are a good size. Try it...you cannot be dissappointed.
