Been at the reetaurant a few times, love it everytime. Servers are welcoming, menu has lots of variety and value. Food is so good, my go to brunch place!
I don’t often like to try new things on a menu, but I’ve never been disappointed to do so here! Have been coming for over 5 years with my family and will continue to come on our weekends!
Great food and amazing service, eggscrepes is our go to spot at least twice a week. This is a family run restaurant that makes us feel like part of their family.. I can't say enough about this place. Whether it's crepes with fresh fruit or eggs Benny, you will not be disappointed.
Today I went to eggs and crepes like I do quite often, but today was a different experience for me. After my experience today I will never go back to Eggs and Crepes on king st, and here is why. Our waitress was rude from the moment she sat us down, we ordered our tea and coffee and then ordered our food. I asked for more hot water for my tea as we waited for our meals, (it never came) and since our waitress never came back to our table I got up and just asked again (no big deal). What upset me, was I ordered a strawberry banana smoothy which is always so good. But today when I got it, it tasted horrible, everyone at my table tasted it and agreed so i kindly asked her to add more banana to it to see if they helped. The lady argued with me and then literally pffft and walked away with it. She brought it back later in a smaller glass and slamed it on the table and said "here is your smoothie" and walked away. ( I never drank the $5 smoothie because it tasted like she just put water in it and gave it back). It was the Ppfftt that got me. I didnt even eat my $30 meal. I was that upset in the customer service I received. They dont wear name tags so when I asked the other waitress what our waitresses name was she told me it was Jamila and walked away. ( other people at my table seen her then go to our waitress tell her we asked and they laughed about it). I work customers service, I would never treat someone the way we were treated today. -Ms.Melchior
3 Eggs, 5 slices of bacon, home fries, toast, pieces of fruit, and coffee with refills for $6.95, good meal, good value, good atmosphere. Enjoyed our visit very much, and look forward to going back again.
Honestly its our family favorite, every sunday morning its a tradition for our family to go to eggs crepes, i enjoy the workers there, i enjoy the atmosphere and the food there is amazing, everyone should give it a try
I've been curious about this place for years, but had never made it in. From the outside it looks uninspired from a distance, though it does have some enticing pictures in the windows. First off I want to say, if you're looking for a deep discount bacon and egg breakfast, this is not the place for you. One of our diners is very picky and eats nothing but cereal for breakfast, so he was out of luck. This place caters more toward breakfast elegance. They have the basics, but their menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of gourmet options and their prices reflect this. I actually found the menu a bit overwhelming as every page had something new and exciting. Eggs benedict, waffles, crepes, omelettes, french toast, smoked salmon, etc. The selection would satisfy anyone looking for an impressive breakfast or who has a sweet tooth. Fresh fruit came with almost everything. Ice cream, whip cream, chocolate sauce and custard were available with many of the meals. We were offered drinks right away and they were served quickly, including freshly squeezed orange juice. Nice presentation with an orange slice on the glass. We placed our meal order, including a request for my meal not to include pineapple or melon since I was allergic. She assured me that I would be getting a strawberry banana crepe, that I didn't need to worry. This turned out to be the only issue with our experience. There was both pineapple and melon in the garnish. Since they weren't touching my meal I just pushed them onto my companion's plate and didn't comment. But, I often dine with others who could not be as lenient. I enjoyed my meal and enjoyed that the custard in my crepe was not overly sweet. And also that the whip cream was real. My dining companion indicated that his was better than he expected and dove right in with gusto. With the exception of the allergy issue, our service was great. Prompt, courteous, not rushed. The atmosphere was comfortable and I was impressed when I walked in. Comfortably spaced tables, homey and clean atmosphere. Unlike what others commented, I wasn't envisioning its former life as a bar. I will be back and have already proposed it as a meeting place for a bunch of friends who I've accompanied to a nearby dessert parlour and I think will appreciate the similarities in this dining experience, while also appreciating the variety of lower guilt options to accompany it.
I loved this place I took my boyfriend and his father there. His father is from Montreal and our waitress spoke french to them and they just loved it. I love how all of our plates came with fruit and coffee was bottomless and on our table. Our waitress also was not annoying she only came when needed I personally hate waitresses that dont leave your table .... WE WOULD DEFENTLY RETURN AND RECOMMED
I always have a great meal here. The location is great for me as it is within walking distance, and it is very central for anyone driving. Parking can be an issue on busier days, but there is a large area at the back of the building if you can't get a spot at the front. Since renovating the place is brighter and cleaner looking. Service is average, depending on who you get as a server. Some are excellent, some are average, but none are poor. If you hit the wrong time on the weekends you will be in for a long wait for a table, so my advice is to go earlier than the church crowd that come from across the street. I like that you get fresh fruit with your meal, and the coffee is bottomless and always on your table.
I was so disappointed by this restaurant that I have just returned from there and felt I had to write a review. Please note that this is a review of the OSHAWA location only and I have heard great things about the Ajax location which I can only assume is because it is owned or operated by other people. We thought we would try something different for a change when we received coupons in the mail and thought we'd try them out as a mini-celebration for my son's first birthday as we had already had his party and today was his actual birthday. Never again! The coupons were valid from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and also advertised an all day breakfast. We got there around 2:20 p.m. and there were only two other tables taken. First omen. When we sat down, I apologized to the people next to us for 'sitting on top of them' as we were squeezed right next to them while the rest of the restaurant was completely empty. 2nd omen. I may be picky but I asked the waitress about the turkey or chicken club if it was 'real' meat, in other words, not sliced meat (the coupon was for a club sandwich, soup or salad, coffee and desert for $6.99). A great deal, I thought but I am not a fan of deli-style sliced meat in my club sandwiches. She told me that she would have to check with the cook as the lunch chef had left and she wasn't sure if the other cook could make the club sandwich. 3rd omen. She returned and assured me that it was real. We also ordered the Super Breakfast. She returned a few minutes later to advise that they were out of sausages. 4th omen. She did however, ask if he wanted extra bacon instead. When the breakfasts came out, the portions were on the smaller side. My club sandwich was with sliced meat. My husband asked the waitress if we could get some strawberries for my daughter as she didn't eat the melon and grapefruit that came out with the breakfast. She returned a few minutes later and advised that she was told they were out of strawberries. 5th omen. I asked the waitress what kind of salad they had as my meal also came with a salad or soup. I ordered the Caesar salad. She then advised us that they closed at 3:00 p.m. We then realized that being out of sausages and strawberries must be code for too lazy to cook some and can't be bothered to get strawberries. Did I mention that the turkey club was actually a ham club and I never did get my salad or the desert, nor did I care to by the end of it. When they closed at 3:00 pm., they actually turned off the lights in the back of the restaurant and I saw someone who may have been a family member walking through the back of the restaurant to the kitchen with a cigarette in his mouth (although it wasn't lit). When we were leaving I gave the waitress the rest of the coupons we had and told her she could keep them as we wouldn't be using them. Even with the coupon our bill came to $27 for two adults and a child i.e. $6.99 "turkey" club, the super breakfast which consisted of three eggs, bacon and "sausage" and 3 mini crepes, home fries and toast and a $5.99 breakfast and a chocolate milk. Although our waitress was not terrible, we have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant and will never return to this place again. I have read some of the other reviews of this restaurant and agree - you are much better off to go to Timmies or McDonalds and save your money!!!
I have been to this restaurant many times. Most of the times I went the service was excellent. The servers were prompt, happy and trying there best to please. Very pleasant to be served by. This last weekend I went, I had the worst service. I believe that I have ever had.... ANYWHERE !! The waitress was rude, very short with us. I felt rushed threw my order. Was not ask once how are meal was and if we needed anything. She put a carafe of coffee that did not even fill two cups. Had to flag down another server to ask for coffee. Least but not last, she made a mistake on our bill. She stood there arguing with us as to what we had ordered. Not quite sure why they hired this woman, she should not and I mean NOT be serving the public.
The eggs crepes restaurant in Oshawa was the best breakfast restaurant Ive ever been to!!! The place has wonderful decor, really cozy/comfortable, and feels like home for some reason. I had and expert which has eggs, beans,Creton,Crepe,Sausages,Bacon,Ham and potatoes and it was so delicous and my friend had their new Ice cream waffle which has choice of ice cream and Fruit with Chocolate sauce and whit chocolate chips on top. The food looked so good and im so looking forward to gooing back becuase its the best breakfast restaurant in oshawa
We used to love this place! So disappointed since it changed owners. The plates have gone from being full to half full on top of being mediocre. Today when we got the bill, there was a mistake on the price and when we brought it their attention, first we were redirected to the waitress, then she went on to argue that she had charged for a different plate then asked because she had added cream cheese to the bagel - even though this was not what was ordered. She finally grudgingly agreed to charge the correct amount. Needless to say we are NOT going there again. Over the past few years, we have spent hundreds of dollars here. With the quality/tatse in decline and the service in the toilet; no more! They don't deserve your money.
Food wasn't bad. Atmosphere is tacky, used to be a bar I think. Owner is a hot head. Heard him berating a waitress right out in the open. Asked our server what was going - as it had everyone's attention. Found out it was the owner and it happens all the time. Ruined breakfast for us.
Food is actually amazing. It's great, and you really can't get anything like it in Oshawa. The place itself looks kinda dumpy/tacky...it used to be a bar, so there's still the bar inside it actually...but it does have a warm, homey, laid-back type of atmosphere. It is quite huge for a breakfast place I think and considering the usually quick turnover of people coming and going the staff do a good job. It's not a fancy place, but if you want good food then it's definitly a good place to go. I'm craving the food right now just by thinking about it!
The place is ok the tell but you will understand because it used to be a bar service is not bad but one you have the crepe and waffle with fruits and chocalate sauce smuthered all over it you will understand why I go there! food is amazing
Ajax location 3 visits since March 08. 1st 2 were great - other than the layout of the men's washroom vis-a-vis the door. Ratings more or less reflect these two visits. May 10 visit - arrived about 10 AM busy but short wait. (Mother's Day weekend) New wait staff. initial coffee/tea prompt and ordered. After 45 minutes waitress "apologzed" for slow service but appeared to reflect kitchen thruput. after an hour noted that later arriving customers now eating. At 11:15 we left - waitress orders appeared to have disappeared in the kitchen - could not find it even then - other customers of same waitress in similar situation. Will give one more chance - hope this was an anomaly.
I just can't say anything more about this restaurant. It is so organized and clean. The food is great, service is excellent, and most of all it's tidy. A MUSTVISIT RESTAURANT. BEST BREAKFAST RESTAURANT EXISTED.
Best breakfast I've EVER had!!! I always get the magic wake up, it's the best thing you'll ever try. The decor needs a facelift, but you forget about it when the food comes. Service is pretty good, they're always friendly and helpful. Eggs Crepes is the best, you HAVE to try it!!
I had been with my wife and mother in law a couple of times to this place. It has usually been ok but nowhere near other breakfast places in Ajax are but then a change is good now and then. Well I would certainly not change to this place any more. The food was luke warm, coffee stewed and bitter - but not half as bitter as the waitress. Somebody called _____- We asked her twice for separate bills two friends had come with us at our suggestion and I must say they were totally unimpressed and will also not be back. This so called waitress _____was really the problem. It was 10 am so she had time to wake up perhaps have a cup of coffee herself and should have realised that people are paying top dollar for food that is definitely quantity over quality. Although in my opinion we were pleasant to her it was impossible to get even a hint of a smile out of her. After she had made a mess of the bills at the end - my wife realised that we had a coupon. Now I had a bad feeling about this but my wife being a reasonable soul (who works at one of the busiest family Doctors in Ajax decided to go to the main counter to sort the bill and the coupon out. Well dealing with sick people all week and some of them in pain etc they usually take it out on the secretaries so my wife knows how it feels to be on the other side of the coin as it were. Apparently this waitress _____almost had a fit, she started throwing things around in full view of all the customers in that area, ranting and raving like the Tasmanian devil all the time yelling that she was quote 6 tables behind unquote. So who cares that she cannot do her job properly. My wife who is a quietly spoken polite person was mortified. She did point out that some of the other wait staff hanging around were trying to deal with my wife and at the same time looking shocked at the crazy behaviour of their colleague. We will not return to this place and I can just about guarantee to the management that if they have people like this Carla lady working for them their days in Ajax are numbered. We do not mind paying for value but insults and raging lunatics - no thanks, back to our regular quiet breakfast on a Sunday. I intend to copy this to the owner/manager asap.
