LOOK NO FURTHER!

In 1985 I sought an honest, reliable person to care for my car. Since finding Tomlin, I have never gone anywhere else. I value highly the honesty of accurate assessments & estimates, the quality of the work & the respect I have been shown. The proof of quality is evidenced by how long I have been able to safely drive my cars. So far my record is more than 450,000 km! I have been completely satisfied with Tomlin. I will continue to recommend this shop to anyone who wants honest, quality service.

RUN dont walk away from this place!

Took my car to Tomlin because they were conveniently located. The engne light was on, had trouble starting it and it needed an oil change. They called me and told me that the whole front end of the car was done in, the transmission needed replacement, both brake lines were lose/rusted, etc. The repairs would cost around $2,000 plus $3,000 for a new transmission. My car is a 2002 Honda Accord, so I was not surprised. They suggested that it was not worth repairing, unsafe to drive and that I should start looking for a new car. They charged me $175 to lift and look under. When I asked what caused the engine light (the reason I brought it to them), they had no clue and in order to diagnose that they would need to charge me another $150 to put it on their diagnostic computer (seriously????).Today I took my car repair shop in Brooklin ON. They repaired the upper ball joints, replaced the canister valve which was leaking, changed the oil and oil filter for a grand total of $777.99 including HST. When I asked what else is wrong with the car they did tell me that the transmission would need to be replaced in the future and that the car was perfectly safe. My recommendation.... STAY AWAY.

At your request, we performed a Check Engine light diagnostic, found an Evaporative system fault, which we diagnosed to faulty canister valves, and advised you that the canister and valves needed to be replaced to remedy the issue. At your request we also checked the starting system, and found no fault at the time of testing. The charges for the diagnostic services are 158.40 plus HST for a total of 178.99. While working on your car, we couldn’t help but notice several serious safety concerns (worn ball joints, weak brake lines) and pending mechanical deficiencies such as a slipping transmission, engine oil leaks, Day light running lights not working, etc. Tomlin Auto Service has been in business for 32 years. One of our business fundamentals is to keep our customers informed on the state of their vehicles. Therefore it is our obligation to make you aware of the condition of your vehicle, the pending costs, and your options. This service was supplied to you at no cost. Tom Z.
