I had the pleasure of dining with 5 of my colleagues at the Fraser Cafe on August 15th, 2017. Our customer experience was absolutely amazing. Not only was the food delicious with many interesting choices, but the service was incredible. I cannot say enough about this lovely little restaurant tucked away in New Edinburgh in Ottawa. This restaurant is not huge space but has an amazing relaxed atmosphere with a touch of upscale elegance. A must try for sure.

Brunch on Eggs Benedict in Ottawa

Brunch on Eggs Benedict in Ottawa

Rather than stuff traditional bacon under their poached eggs and hollandaise, Fraser Cafe uses house-made porchetta, an Italian-style pork roast. That small, yet significant change makes all the difference. English muffins, fresh tomatoes and greens make this savoury brunch one of, if not the best, options for eggs Benedict in the city.

Ethical eats: Ottawa’s best farm-to-table dining

Brothers Simon and Ross Fraser run the urban joint Fraser Café and more upscale sister restaurant Table 40 with an appreciation for and dedication to seasonal dining. Communal seating might seem intimidating to more reserved diners, but fear not – the friendly and cozy atmosphere at Fraser Café will make you feel right at home. The beautiful long tables made of reclaimed tree trunks from B.C. add a unique charm to the dining area. Adventurous diners love the kitchen’s choice: a surprise dish prepared by the chef just for you (no special requests or modifications – you’ve got to commit).

Romantic date-night restaurants in Ottawa

Brothers Ross and Simon Fraser have created a neighbourhood favourite with citywide appeal, due mainly to their clever use of fresh, local ingredients. The ever-changing menu offers diverse fish, meat and vegetarian choices, often with a twist, such as squash and goat cheese agnolotti accented with kale, hazelnuts, lemon and brown butter. The open kitchen adds to the lively atmosphere; in fact, things can get a little noisy on a crowded evening, but conversation is rarely difficult.
