Great Place to Eat, Fair Prices

Always a nice place to visit! I have enjoyed this place since I was a child, and now bring my own children & my hubby. From the tiny spot on Somerset, to the bigger spot on Booth! I'll miss the previous owner and friendly hostess. But I'm also glad to see the original owner is back! The food is great here, and after going to other places, I think the prices are very reasonable! Always great to come here when I don't feel like cooking, or need to fix my salad roll craving! Hands down the best Beef Salad Roll!

One of my first dining experiences in Ottawa, and...

One of my first dining experiences in Ottawa, and it was a good one. The place is unassuming from the outside, and looks like just another place in China Town. Upon entering, I was greeted with a bustling little restaurant with almost every table full. The place itself is clean, the decor is minimal, and the tables are a bit cramped. But one does not come here for the atmosphere. Though I will say that due to the insanity of how busy it was, I kinda felt like I was actually in some far off Viet cafe. Service here was quick, efficient, to the point. Our server wasn't overly friendly, but she wasn't doing anything to detract from the experience. Just serving people as fast as possible at a quick pace. Our food came in about 10 minutes, and I was shocked at the portions. My plate was huge and it came packed with fresh basil, cilantro, beef, pork, noodles, carrots, and all I needed to make my rolls. It also came with enough rice paper rolls to feed two. I could barely finish my plate, but I am glad I did. Everything was delicious, including the Pho I had to start. Overall, this is a great place to grab a quick, tasty, and nutritious meal at a very decent price.

I can't confirm but I believe the old owners of this restaurant moved and opened up a place called so-go on bank street. I've read some discouraging reviews on other restaurant sites since the change in ownership but I still find it very good here but not as busy as it used to be. I order the vermicelli with spring rolls and chicken and the 'three bean drink'. Sounds strange but its very tasty and exotic. I'm also a big fan of the rice noodle soups and my friend always orders the soup with BBQ pork. Overall its good food for a very reasonable price.

Spicy my favourite

The New Mee Fung is a consistant favourite of mine. The atmosphere is bustle and noise, but you can still have a nice conversation with your table mates. The food is great and I recomend 136 - thick spicy satay soup with rice noodles and your choice of beef or chicken. Great for a cold rainy Ottawa day. Check it out.

I've eaten here many times, and eaten widely across the menu - it's the best Vietamese in Ottawa. Duck curry special is fantastic - soups as well. Highly recommended.

Probably Ottawa's best Vietnamese restaurant (although I've only tried 5 or 6). The food is all you could ask for. Fresh ingredients, large portions simply presented and prepared. The prices are very cheap and service very quick. Highly recommended.

First time in any Vietnamese restaurant. The huge...

First time in any Vietnamese restaurant. The huge pot of tea was great. Had a mango smoothie. mmmmmmm We shared a plate of vegetarian spring rolls. Very good. We each ordered a wrap dish, mine was with BBQ chicken and my husband's was shrimp wrapped around sugar cane. Very large portion and many different items to each wrap. We were more than satisfied and the food was good. I've read that some people thought the meat was terrible, but mine was amazing. Perhaps the time of day is important. We went in just before 5 and as we left were told it gets very busy after 6:30. Maybe they can't handle the volume and the quality goes down, but it was perfectly fine when we were there. We also tried 2 desserts. Can't say much for really hot, squishy banana deepfried, but the green jelly thingies with coconut sauce were quite good. As first timers, everything was new. It was hard to get explanations as the staff were clearly Vietnamese and didn't speak much English. You just have to dive in and try something new.
