Maximilian Dining Lounge

I recently retired from the GTA and moved to Lanark Highlands. We decided to try your restaurant last weekend. My girlfriend had the goulash and I had the schnitzel which was the second best I've ever had. The best was my late mother's. But you did come a very close second. The prices I found were reasonable and not overpriced as some patrons would lead you to believe. And if you complain about the wait, remember you're not eating at McDonalds. I guarantee you will not leave hungry.

Excellent schnitzel. Best that I ever had in the Ottawa and Eastern Ontario region. Will be going back for sure! Service was fantastic and the staff friendly.

When first introduced to Maximillian's in the 80's, yes the 1980, it was a good experience. We did not order the Schnitzel and a good meal would have been even better. Here we are in 2011 and we still place it at the top of our favourite list!!!! We visit 4-6 times a year, whether alone as a couple or with friends. We always order the Schnitzel with Dumplings and get a side order of potatoes. This way there is always some leftovers for the next day. The decor is fresh and the place is clean. The linen is a nice touch as are the fresh flowers on each table. We travel to many different wordly destinations and still rank this as a reasonable priced, tasty & fulfilling *5 star eatery. To Sidewinder. you really need to learn some manners. I do not expect management to interfer with my meal, and if I am not satisfied with an order, simply speak to the waitress..ranting & raving afterwards is a self pity project. No mention was made of the food. The only fault these days...more salt required on the potatoes! Waitress Joanne is a must!!

Have you had the stew with dumplings? Dilicious. Always an excellent meal no matter what meal is ordered. We lived in the area at one time and last year we traveled from Kitchener, stayed over night in Perth, just to eat at Maximlian Dining Lounge and will do it again this summer with any luck

If I didn't know better I'd think Angie (2 comments down) and I went here together. My review will be excactly the same, except I've never been to Germany. We usually go here once a year when we visit our friend near Perth. Never been disappointed

Went there with a large party of friends, I was excited to try it because a few people said that it was a very good restaurant. Amasing it wasn't! Found it over- priced for the quality of food we got. The tomatoes in the chef salad were under-riped , the celery and iceberg offered no flavour has such vegetable usually doesn't , it seemed like it would of been swine food 15 minutes after it was served to us. With a few carrot shavings swimming in a sugary-vinegary vinaigrette that could of been used to dissenfect a wound. Schnitzel was big but covered the entire plate, leaving no room for expected vegetables,other than some well hidden mashed-not-mashed potatoes underneath the mangled swine, wasn't sure if the chef had nearly forgot to include them on the plate. Compared to other german restaurant, it would of came last in a race to the finish line.

I have eaten here many times and have always ordered the wienerschnitzel. It takes up the entire size of the plate and has always been consistent. The wienerschnitzel is better than that which I had in Germany. The service is always very good and friendly. You probably won't have room for dessert though...perhaps just a Spanish coffee.

There's only one meal to have here...

There's only one meal to have here, weinersnitzel, it's almost too much for one person, (eat slow), always excellent. Have never had room for dessert.
