t took 2 hours to receive our food although it was OK, I was thoroughly informed by staff and the management that is was fine and that the problem was that we did not order h'orderves which did not allow the kitchen staff sufficient time to prepare our meal's. The only saving grace of this restaurant was that the food was decent and the portions were excellent. But other than that the food was slow and we did not even receive one apology for the tardiness of our meal but was fed endless accuses for the tardiness of our meal. If you have no other plans for your evening other than eating this restaurant could prove satisfactory, but if you plan on following up dinner with any other event I would advise you to dine else where.
I went to a 30th birthday party at this resturant, i had never been before and was excited to go because it sounded so elegant and the menu looked great.

Upon arriving we were seated in a private room, the decor for the entire resturant is beautiful and really makes up for this small size, but its traditional romantic for an italian resturant.
I was then completely dissapointed to by the lack of respect by the waiters in this resturant. a friend of mine had looked up reviews and was already prepared for the lack of service and poor manners of the staff here, by the looks of the resturaunt, I didnt want to believe him, but boy was he right.
We had an older gentlemen who was italian, I wish I knew his name. Since our menu was fixed, all the servers needed to do was bring drinks and help keep the tables clear. I have never seen any resturant have such difficult keeping up with such a small party. our table was loaded with emplty bread baskets and glasses, they would not remove them until you physically handed whatever you wanted removed to them. If you wanted a drink, you needed to wait about a half hour to get it and they would usually get the order wrong anyways. The best was towards the end of the night, he dropped a pitcher of coke off at the table and refused to return until it was empty.
I had dropped a small glass of water on the table and simply asked for a new table cloth, i removed the old one and was going to place the new one on, that doesnt matter to be, what bugged me was when he tossed the table cloth to me and said people like us should go to 5 star resturaunts!!! You'd be dreaming to think this place was even worth visiting or that it is a 5 star resturaunt.
Definitly would not recommend this place to even my worst enemy, no deserves to be treated like that by a stranger, If u hate your job buddy, you should quit!
My experience with Zafferano is that it is a pretty good restaurant with decent prices and good food. The service was not very good and my server was both rude and could not be found at key times during the meal such as to ask if we needed anything and even took a while to bring me the cheque upon being asked to. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I have been to this restaurant twice in the last two years and the service has not changed at all. It is still very slow. We had one drink served in 45 minutes and no food. From the time we arrived at the restaurant, we waited in total two hours to get our main course. When the main course came out, my husband had ordered the striploin done medium to well, however, the steak was medium rare and he was worried about sending it back because he did not want to wait another two hours. So we exchanged our meals. My husband had also ordered a caesar salad which he never got. He took my dish of seafood that I had ordered. I enjoyed his steak because it was cooked exactly how I like steak, which is medium rare. The seafood was adequate but not outstanding. I will never go to this restaurant again and will discourage anyone from going there.
My family and I went for dinner and received the absolute SLOWEST Service EVER! The restaurant was even busy -- It was a Monday evening!
It took forever to get anything sent over to the table....it was ridiculous!
In addition, my garden salad was LOADED with salt, my sea bass and calamari was overcooked, I asked for extra vegetables instead of potatoes (didn't happen)....my husband's chicken breast was overcooked and dry....I could go on......
We will likely never visit this establishment ever again.....
We had a reservation for a Thursday, it wasn't exactly packed but steady. We asked if it would be possible to have seperate bills before we even sat down & were told that it's not something they normally do but they would do it for us. I will say that the Calamari appetizer & the baby spinach salad were delicious. One of my friends received her salad without enough salad dressing, she asked for more dressing, not once but twice before it came to the table & by that time the rest of us had finished our salads. I had the Seafood Linguine which was not exactly "hot" when it came to the table & while I like my pasta al dente this was a little too stiff to be considered anything other than half cooked. I aked for the Chocolate Pecan pie for desert & was informed as the others were being served their deserts that what I ordered was not available. I honestly have no idea what I got instead but did not enjoy it. I was told by the waiter that it would take a while to figure the individual bills while we were being served desert. I said that was fine since we still needed to eat our desert anyway. We got out of the restraurant at 9:30!!!!! We were there at 6:00. While we were eating our deserts & our waiter was supposedly figuring out the bills, he was actually in another part of restraurant chatting with other customers. We were sitting there for an hour after we finished before we finally got the bill & only because we told him to just put it on one bill & the waiter had the nerve to add the tip onto it! I was never offered cheese for my pasta, there was no pepper on the table (assuming they use those ridiculous large pepper mills) & none of us was asked if we wanted pepper. The waiter's attitude & the crappy way we were treated will ensure we never go back there again. Overpriced considering the lousy service! Oh yes, the guitar player was very good but, he could turn his amp down a notch.
A further note to this terrible dining experience. One of my friends tracked down the owner of this restaurant & lodged a complaint. Funnily enough he knew immediately who she was referring to when she told him what happened with our waiter. He refunded the tip in full! I thought that was very nice of him but, I bet that waiter is still working there!
Party of 11 including 4 children. The waiter recomended an antipasto for the whole table to eat from and was quite good, but when calculating the cost of the antipasto I believe he overcharged us. We had 4 children, a 2yr old which slept through the whole dinner, and a 3 yr old which also did not eat a drop, yet the waiter calculated 11 people x $14 for the dish. $150 antipasto is a bit excessive. It should have been at best an antipasto for 9.
Found service to be excellent, have been many times and have always been greeted warmly by host, Lunch and dinner have always been great, I often bring business clients/friends they are always impressed. Highly recommend since opening day
My friends and I went there recently for our Christmas Dinner and I was not impressed at all. I had heard so many good things about Zafferano (word of mouth) that I was excited to go but was very disappointed to say the least.
My friend ordered a chicken entree and the chicken was raw inside...yes RAW...they replaced her entree with a pizza which was burnt underneath. She was unable to eat anything at all that night. For the other three of us the food was okay, nothing spectacular. Also something else to mention, we ordered sparkling water, the first bottle was fine but the second bottle was watered down. We had to ask for the bottle to be replaced.
They did apologize, but it was very nonchalant for my liking.
So not happy!!!

Very noisy, poor service. Orders not right. Food cold. Coffee cold. So many other great Italian restaurants in the same area- choose another.
There are some reviews that suggest you make a reservation at this place, I don't see why, I've been there twice, Friday and a Saturday night and we were easily seated...many tables were available. The food was nothing special, it certainly didn't WOW us at all. The service on the other hand was very slow and somewhat rude. They knew we waited much longer than we should have for our food and we didn't complain yet we were treated like WE did something wrong. The waiter seemed like he hated his job and we were all a bother...than we find out from the table next to u,s who were also not very pleased, that he was one of the owners!!
You can get this food anywhere in Woodbridge without the attitude...and that's what we'll do! Thank you!
I've been to Zaff's more than a few occasions; and have always had a pleasant experience. Great food, great ambiance and fantastic service.
You should also try Sapore's - which is run by the same family. They obviously know what they are doing. Both restaurants are A+. I've even had them cater some of my private functions - and could never complain!
Great food, service and atmosphere with our experience at Zafferano. Our group ordered a variety of dishes and we were all pleased. This restaurant is the real thing, must check it out if you haven't already.
That's it! I've had it with this restaurant. I've given it many chances (mostly because it's close by) and there's ALWAYS something that is not right! This weekend I was finally convinced by my neibors to try another local restaurant that they go to often and I finally went with them and I was blown away! The service, the quality and presentation of the food, the freshness and flavours of Italian food all at the same if not better prices than Zafferano! I was so pleased with the evening but almost pissed off that I have wasted so many dinners and money on Zafferano. They won't miss my business I'm sure and I certainly won't miss going there!
I'm not sure where to start, our meal was delicious, service was incredible considering it was fully jammed, our whole experience was great and we will return forsure. Now I understand why they won 4 years in a row Best Restaurant & Food in Vaughan. Keep up the great work.
I just can't figure it out...sometimes this restaurant is okay and somtimes it's just terrible. We wont take the risk anymore, we were so humiliated in front of our guests who wanted to go to another restaurant in the area and we convinced them to go to Zafferano! The server was so rude and annoying and the food was BAD! How dare they charge prices like that for that food!
