Great spot to have a beer and tried the mac & cheese bites... Our server Alicia was excellent. Thank you
We believe there might be new management there. They had to adjust to the Closing of the Driftwood or the new name. My husband and I really enjoyed our meal of liver and onions. Waitress was excellent and our dessert of hot tarts with ice cream and whipped cream blew us away. Husband, wife and mother work very long hours there. The gravy was not salty which most restaurant gravy is and you could tell the whole meal was well prepared. Thank You Sauble Dunes
Although we called days in advance to make a reservation for my son's team, they were not prepared to hand our group. I was the first of our group to be sat at 8pm, first to order and the last to get my food at 9:49pm, by this time 3/4 of our team had left. The food was mediocre and overpriced, the server was clueless and made excuses for the delay rather try and make things better. They didn't seem to care about us a a customer and was a waste of time and money! Would not recommend.
This place has been around for a while. The food and service are inconsistent going from poor to average at best. Most other restaurants in the area are better.
Not impressed at all. The service was really bad. We had to wait a lot. Granted it was a busy night just by chance I believe. So they were short staffed. However the food was not very good. They said the ribs were made by some famous local rib guy but they were not good. Poor flavour and bad texture. I wouldn't go there if I were you.
We ate at this restaurant on July 24, 2012 with our 3 young children. We wanted to eat outside and weren't told that we were sitting in the smoking section. When we did find out, we had started eating and decided not to move. We were greeted promptly, and the kids were anxious to start their colouring pages. They forgot to bring crayons to the table, and we reminded our waitress twice. After 2 reminders and 10 minutes, I finally went into the restaurant where I was informed that they ran out of crayons. No apologies offered. We ordered and then all of the food came EXCEPT for 2 of the kid meals. I fed the kids off my plate and then we all finished, and the kids meals arrived 20 MINUTES after our meals got to the table. The kids were restless, and I told the waitress that we wouldn't be taking the 2 kids meals. Again, no apologies. I would strongly suggest that families not go to this restaurant, we won't be returning.
I love this place for so many things they do, its right near my vacation spot beautiful sight of Sauble beach and most importantly best burger in town:Like steak on a bun go try it out and love it Great food, amazing service, and great atmosphere of the beach (in and out in like 40 minutes!) great overall
We were promptly seated in this nice beachy Bar and Grill atmosphere. We all had some of the Chef's specialty smoked pulled pork and smoked trout mmm mouth watering good. Would not hesitate to go back to the Sauble Dunes next time we're at the beach.
We had exceptional service, great food, prices and a fantastic server - Natasha. We were seated promptly and orders were taken fast! Drinks, appetizers, main course were all top notch, we were in and out in 90 minutes. We will be back!!
Never again. This has to be the worst food on the beach. We got there after 9 and they were only serving bar food. OK, we could live with that. I had the burnt squash soup and the no salad taco salad and mu husband had the salt only french onion cheese blob and the wilted ceasar salad. It was not edible. Never again, don't waste your money. Unless all you want to do is drink, which are not expensive and watch skanks hanging all over the homeless, avoid this place like the plague!
Do not waste your time eating here. We came in for supper last night and sat out on the patio. It took the waitress 10 minutes to even come and get our drink order and another 10 to get the food order. then it took another 15 for the appetizers to come and they were cold and soggy and burnt. The 'garlic bread' ( I use the term loosely) was burnt with cheese on top to try and hide the ghastly bread looking thing and the mozzerella sticks were tiny and cold. The supper was even worse. I had the taco salad which was supposed to have fresh lettuce to find a couple of wilted pieces of iceberg lettuce smothered in large chunks of onion and peppers with a few barely noticable token pieces of chiken that I paid an extra $5 for. My husband had ordered the fettucini alfredo, to only be served a soupy mess of alfredo sauce with some overcooked noodles and tough almost inedible meat. Our boys were served charred burgers that were also cold and they barely touched them. In hind sight we should have left after the crappy service and the burnt soggy garlic bread, but were too hungry at that point. The food was overpriced for what we got and I can tell you that I would have had a better meal at McDonalds for a fraction of the price. I warn you to eat at your own risk!!! MacBeth's cafe down the street on main street was AWESOME!!! Fresh cooked food at great prices...we should have stuck with that. Sauble Dunes restaurant should be embarrassed at the quality of food it serves for the ridiculous prices. I do not mind paying for good food, but none was to be had here.
