Hammersley's Fish 'N Chips

I have ordered fish and chips here many times. I do only ever order the halibut. It is just a meatier fish. 9 times out of 10 it is very very good. Only twice did they over it. Food is great, atmosphere is grungy. The only thing I don't like about it was the 2 times my fish was very overcooked and unchewable at the ends, I called to let them know. The only thing I have ever got from them was a very simple sorry. They have never offered to replace the fish, nor offered a credit towards the meal. And to get 2 pieces of halibut it is close to $20. So I guess they are simply sorry that I have wasted $40 on them thus far. But I do keep going back because the majority of the time the fish is great.

Great food & service. Will visit again for sure. Small fish & chips for $6.95 is big enough to feed a man. Large was more than enough for husband, small more than enough for wife. Great server.

ordered fish and chips a few times from here. the outside is cooked and the inside batter was still runny. I have had this a few times. It is like it is not cooked long enough or the fryer is at the wrong temperature.

They have a wide range of fish halibut, cod, sole etc, staff are very friendly and polite & food is very good. Other items which are sold are battered shrimp and battered mushrooms.

Food is always excellent, large variety of different sea foods including shrimp, various types of fish etc. Service is always prompt, the staff is always polite and they are actually open all day and in the evening, unlike another similar establishment down the street where we no longer go, due to poor service and short hours. We either pick up or eat in every two weeks or more often, and will continue to do so. The best fish and chips in St. Thomas.
