Meet the owner

The brothers Marzouk are no strangers to the restaurant scene. When Nader and Patrick put their collective minds together, they open incredible venues and promise the public a memorable experience. Their latest venture, a restaurant in Yorkville called Figures, provides a dining experience like no other. In fact, since opening in March 2017, people have been coming in droves. “We are booked solid at least two weeks in advance. It’s unbelievable considering how long we’ve been open for,” says Nader.

Figures is a comic book-themed restaurant that has captured the imagination of diners and given them a chance feel nostalgic. The venue does that as soon as you step off the street and into the reception area, which is completely covered with decoupage style comics and a shelf full of toys. When ready, the hostess will press a Captain America button, opening the door to the 80 seat restaurant oasis.

Beautiful circular banquettes, incredible framed paintings, a surreal multi-layered mural that takes up the entire south wall and an illuminated Pac Man ceiling make the room pop. It took seven months to transform the space into their vision, commissioning everyone from artists and engineers to electricians and even neon specialists to make sure that every detail was perfect. Figures is playful elegance at its best. “We wanted people to wake up the next morning and say wow that was an amazing experience I had last night,” says Patrick.
