This place should be GREAT- the food is actually good. The portion size is a problem - been 3 times and have not left full (I'm on the small side of average size). The service is NOT good - at ALL. Long waits, dismissive servers, overly casual service for the price range. This place could be a great success if they up'd the portion size a little bit and improved the service. I understand the Leslieville mentality - and I understand good food - unpretentious environment - but they still miss on both counts. It's a shame - and the reason it's probably only busy on the weekends and they only do 1 or 2 seatings (guessing this - but we've never had to reserve and just walk right in on the w/e). Too bad - could be good.

Went Sept 26/09 @ 9:00 pm. Service was so slow, table of 6 beside us waited over 45 min to get a drink and then left. It was over an hour before we got any food. Wait staff seemed young and inexperienced - very polite, but that couldn't make up for how slow the kitchen was!! Also, patio was infested with racoons - one even ran between our feet!! In the end food was good, but not good enough to put up with how badly the place is run.

Leslieville gem

Great little restaurant in Leslieville - the service is good and they have a decent little patio out back. The food is always incredible. Price range depends on your appetite but it's not terribly expensive.

Places to get vegetarian dishes in Leslieville

With so many choices on the menu, it’s impossible to confine this restaurant into any one food category. Each dish is presented like a work of art, so you might feel a tad guilty about digging into such a masterpiece. But, the tantalizing aroma will soon get the better of you and you'll love the amazing flavours that follow. In warmer weather, eat outside on the patio. And, when the mercury drops, the votive candles on each table provide a cozy atmosphere.

Local spots in Toronto's Leslieville for good food and drink

Chef George Wensley describes his Leslieville restaurant as a home away from home – a vibe that's created by edgy, vibrant local art hanging on the walls and an old record player for spinning vinyl. The menu varies according to what’s available at the market, so you can enjoy a changing selection of dishes. It’s all chic and exposed brick walls indoors, and for the balmy months, there’s an elegant little patio out back.
