Food’s awesome

The service is quite good as well. I’m a big fan of shrimp and pasta… the combination of the two is my favourite. They have a sweet shrimp bucatini and it’s always cooked perfectly. The shrimps were pretty big and the suggested wine was a nice feature. It’s good to have a suggestion every now and then. Can’t wait to come back here next time I’m in the city.

Not too pricey.. good for a date

I took a girl I was dating to Oro on our third date and the experience we had eating there was amazing. The interior of the restaurant was antique and classy, the lighting was dim and set the perfect mood for a romantic date. The waiter that served us was witty and funny, he provided good service and was very professional. The food was also spectacular, we ordered the scallops, the strawberry grouper, the ribeye steak, the chocolate torte for dessert and bottle of cabernet sauvignon. Although the bill wasn't exactly low, the food, service and experience was well worth it and the experience at Oro put us in the perfect mood for a romantic movie at the nearby cinema two minutes walking distance away. The only downside to this beautiful night was that the parking was a little troublesome.

Really great food and service

Dinner reservations were rather difficult to get at Oro (probably since the top 100 restaurants in Toronto list came out) - the lady we spoke to on the phone was very helpful in getting us a table and definitely provided us with quality customer service. We didn't wait long for our table after arriving, it was quite fast! The interior is very well decorated and creatively inspired by what seems to be Japan, Europe and Urban-style; a beautiful restaurant... it felt very plush. I was excited to eat my sheep's milk ricotta gnocchi and my dessert, "variation of dark chocolate". I was very happy with both of these dishes - really tasty! Having been here only this one time, I see why it has gone viral and become this great place to eat. The service was incredible and although I just met the lady who'd taken our reservation phone for the first time, she was very friendly and accommodating in person as well. Back to the food! The pasta was beautifully presented - in a ball on my plate and topped artistically with a garnish and bacon. The chocolate dessert was very rich and was the perfect compliment to my dinner. The Cataratto was also quite good.. it was nice to have recommended wines for every dish because I always have trouble deciding when there's such a good selection. 5 stars on the food 4.5 stars on the atmosphere 5 stars on the service Well done!

Terrific lunch, good service

Took a client here for lunch the other day...words cannot describe how much I loved the grouper fish - it was so fresh. He also enjoyed the veal porterhouse but I think he was slightly jealous of mine.... I'm sure we'll be back. I'll definitely bring a few more clients by this place as it's truly an impressive restaurant. It IS a little pricey for every day, but what can you do? Gotta pay for the good stuff.
